So far so good up here. Winds yet to go nwly so it’s still quite humid and temperatures haven’t taken off yet. Just 31C. Winds are light at ground level, perhaps 15 knots at tree tops. Odd gust, but nothing significant, so far.

Guess about 5 hours to the front. Eyeballing EC, should see front through Mt Gambier about 2pm, Cape Otway between 3 and 4pm, Geelong about 5pm and Ferny Creek just after 6pm. Nice if a pre-frontal sea breeze pushed through earlier.... but not expecting it.

Western districts in the blast furnace now as expected :? :o :( Fingers crosses the firies keep on top of things :(

Yep, the blast furnace well indeed activated at the moment. Wimmera and Mallee were up to 40 degrees earlier, the southwest in the last 30 minutes has joined them with a number of localities down there reaching the big 40 target also, including Warrnambool and Port Fairy down along the coast. Central parts are not too far behind with Avalon and Geelong regions already cracking the mark. Plenty of hours left, Melbourne should have no trouble reaching the maximum 42, could go higher if there is any delay with the wind change. Speaking of the wind, a bit gusty down here in Cheltenham and the parents in the southwest say it's quite windy gusting up to 50-70 km/h. Squall on the change is looking very intimidating, so hopefully any fires that do get going (hopefully there aren't) are brought under control quite quickly ahead of the change.

36.2c, 17% Humidity, gusting around 50 km/h. About to crank up a notch I feel.

Airey's inlet not long ago, 39c with a 93 km/h gust is a little hair raising.

37.2c and 23% humidity here. Windy but not too bad yet. Rather dreading the wind later this afternoon. Unfortunately my wind gauge has been offline, so no data coming through today.

Wind change through Portland. Down to 26C at Cape Nelson. Should be soon in Warrnambool. Seems to be perhaps a little bit ahead of EC???

33C here now. Bit of wind, but not to bad.

Couple of the Mallee sites have hit 44c, widespread 40's. Melbourne would of hit 40c around 1pm if it was the old Latrobe site :)

35c here at Cowes. Been at the beach most of the day, only just came back to the house. :)

Thank God I'm nowhere near that hell-hole back in the western desert.

Passed 40 degrees a short time ago here. Breezy but not a howling gale, not yet anyway.

Sydney temps are mild, so I think the power situation should be OK for Vic.
Just hit 40 here, wind is moderate.

It is where the station is situated, it always ready low compared to rest of franga due to its sheltered location.

Could hear several sirens going off a few minutes ago. Went outside and can see large plumes of smoke towards seaford. Looked at the vic emergency site and they say a fire in a reserve off Ballarto road is not yet under control.

Hopefully the lunatics with evil ideas stay home today. This wind is terrible.

Few fires popping up across the state now. I can hear all the helicopters heading to that fire ^^ down to the SE of me. Cool change through Warrnambool, up to 41 here in Cheltenham, my parents hit a top of 43 a short time ago in the SW, change about to hit them.

They'd better get on top of it quite quickly. There's A LOT of houses if it hits Langwarrin.

Can hear sirens in all directions from here.

From all reports the wind change sounds very nasty! They'd want to get on top of it pretty soon! :o
