BOMs Terry Ryan, Goodbye, Good Luck and thanks

Post by mick »

The voice of doom retires tomorrow.

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To this day and all through the last drought, he refused to tell us it would rain or more importantly for us, tell us no storms and he was right 99% of the time.

I will miss his thorough briefings. He has a gift for explaining things well.

All the best Terry Ryan.

Mr Ryan, who retires from his senior forecaster position at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) today, said a lot has changed during the course of his 43-year career but some things have remained the same.

"We're still making mistakes," Mr Ryan said.

"We've always made mistakes ... but they're nowhere near as big as they used to be."
