I am a member of the Bureau of Meteorology's WOW Functional Reference Group and have some exciting news about WOW coming to the Australia.

The UK Met Office's Weather Observations Website (WOW) - http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - offers an exciting new online way for weather enthusiasts to submit their own manual and automatic weather observations, upload weather related photos and provide one-off weather reports such as “foggy now”, "hail" or “thunderstorm”. Users are able to view their own data on maps, in tabular and graphical formats and view data from other sites.

The Bureau of Meteorology is now collaborating with the UK Met Office to demonstrate WOW's use as a public data sharing tool for the Australian region. A Bureau entry point for WOW will soon be available to those using the system in Australia, however, early adopters can register through the UK portal now and commence lodging data from their own site at any time.

Stay tuned for further updates ....

Thanks for that info 3030WX, looks very interesting! Hopefully some of our members will add their weather observations, it all helps build a better picture of what's going on around the globe! :D
