Out offshore off Cape Conran on Thursday April 1- the day was a bit of a struggle- 2 of us were out for about 4 hours and only caught 8 fish- 7 flatty and a snapper (rare for these parts?) as well as a few undersize/ Normally we do better than that.

Date Fished: 26/4/2010 (11am to 1pm)
Location: Tambo River

Joel (AWF user name Joeby) and I decided to fish the Tambo after reports of good sized bream in the area. We used crab and prawn as bait and fished south of the bridge. A strong south westerly made things less than ideal, and these conditions kept most of the fish away. I pulled in an undersized bream whilst Joel lost a fair bit of crab to something of reasonable size. We decided to head up river to the cliffs and spend another 30 mins without success.

A total of 2 undersized bream was the final result :(

Date Fished: 27/4/2010 (12pm to 1pm)
Location: Lake Tyers Beach

After the car issue, we drove down to Lake Tyers beach to let the kids run around and have a swim. Joel took along a rod with a lovely silver spinner lure in hope of landing a salmon or two. Bang, straight away he was on, and ended up with 3 salmon, one measuring 42cm (min. length 21cm). Photos to come shortly!! I expect him to frequent the area more often after this successful mission!!
