Tasmaians are also in the firing line in regards to this event, mainly the NW of Tasmania.
If the low shifts further east then places like Devonport & Launceston will see bigger falls than originally forecast.

FLOOD WATCH ADVICE
Issued at 10:03am on Friday the 29th of October 2010
Initial Flood Watch advice for all northern river basins
Statement:
The development of a low to the north of the state, with an associated trough,
will bring statewide rain over the weekend, with heavier falls mostly about the
north of the state.
Rainfall totals between 40 and 100 mm about northwest districts, and between 30
and 50 mm about northeast districts are possible in the 48 hours to midnight
Sunday. Rainfalls will be heaviest overnight Saturday, with significantly higher
totals about elevated areas.
Catchments are relatively dry, but strong water level rises are expected in most
rivers and streams, with local flooding possible in some areas.
Flash flooding is a threat in areas of intense rainfall, where debris flows may
block drains and culverts causing roads to become flooded.
Strong and dangerous flows will be a hazard in rising rivers, with possible
flooding of roads and bridges.
Weather Outlook:
Rain extending throughout the north during Saturday.
