Major Flood Warning for the Mitta Mitta Upstream of Dartmouth
Issued at 8:47 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office


Since 9 am Friday rainfall totals of up to 130 mm have been recorded in the
Mitta Mitta Catchment. Rainfall totals of 10 to 15 mm have been forecast for
Sunday.

Rapid stream rises and moderate to major flooding have been recorded in the
Upper Mitta Mitta catchment during Saturday and overnight into Sunday as a
result of the heavy rainfall and the wet catchment conditions. Minor flooding
has also been recorded in the lower Mitta Mitta river.

Mitta Mitta upstream of Dartmouth
The Mitta Mitta River at Hinnomunjie is steady at 3.4 metres (Major Flood Level
3 metres). The river is expected to remain around this level during Sunday.

Big River at Joker Ck is currently steady at 3.68 metres (Moderate Flood Level
3.7 metres). The river is expected to remain around the moderate flood level
during Sunday morning.

Tallandoon
The Mitta Mitta River at Tallandoon is currently steady at 4.03 metres (Minor
Flood Level 4.2 metres). The river is expected to peak around the minor Flood
Level during Sunday.

Severe weather is causing damage and flooding on roads in various regions across Victoria.

Overnight high winds and storms have also resulted in fallen trees and debris - extreme care should be taken when driving in affected areas.
This will page will be updated throughout the weekend with latest road information. Conditions may change very quickly, so if you need to travel on roads you think may be affected you can call the
VicRoads Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70 for latest updates.
CURRENT ROAD CONDITIONS AND INCIDENTS

NORTHERN REGION

Bendigo-Maryborough Road - closed at Laancoorie.

Bendigo-Murchison Road, Colbinabbin - road closed between the Northern Highway and Heathcote-Rochester Road due to flooding. Local detours in place.

Bendigo-Tennyson Road - road remains open but there is water over the Bendigo Creek Bridge. Drivers should avoid the area or drive with extreme caution.

Euroa-Mansfield Road - closed between Euroa and Merton due to flooding.

Golden Point Road - closed approximately 1km west of old Calder Highway.

Goulburn Valley Highway - closed between Molesworth and Cathkin. Detour via Whanregarwen Road to Alexandra.

Great Alpine Road - closed between Germantown (Bright-Tawonga Road) and Harrietville due to flooding of Ovens River at Frosty Corner
Great Alpine Road - closed between Ovens (Happy Valley Road) and Porepunkah due to flooding
Great Alpine Road, Wangaratta - closed between Wangaratta Main Road and Detour Road due to flooding

Kiewa Valley Highway, Gundowring - closed just north of Gundowring (south of Kergunyah). Boyd Road also now closed due to flooding. Drivers should avoid the area.

Maroondah Highway - closed to northbound traffic heading over Blackspur due to flooding.

Maroondah Highway - closed at Merton. Detour via Euroa-Mansfield Road.

Omeo Highway - between Tallangatta and Mitta Mitta - Road remains open but debris and damage at several locations are restricting access. Drivers should use extreme care or drive on an alternative route.

Northern Grampians Road - road closed between Halls Gap and Wartook due to the Wartook Reservoir close to flooding (and is expected to flood at some stage tonight).

Stawell-Avoca Road - closed 15km from Stawell (towards Navarre) due to flooding. Signed local detours in place.

Tylden-Woodend Road, Woodend - closed 5km west of Woodend. Signed local detours in place.

Wimmera Highway, Logan - closed at Logan due to Avoca River flooding.

Wimmera Highway, Marnoo East - closed at the Avon River (approximately 8km east of Marnoo) due to flooding. Signed local detours in place.

Minor Flood Warning for Watts River at Healesville and Yarra River at Millgrove
and Yarra Glen
Issued at 9:05 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office in consultation with
Melbourne Water


The Yarra River catchment has received rainfall averaging about 25 mm in
the Upper Yarra region and 5 mm in the Lower Yarra Region since 09:00am
yesterday (04/09/2010). Rainfall totals of around 20mm have been
forecast for the catchment today, with the heaviest rainfall expected in
the morning until mid afternoon.

Water levels in the upper reaches of the Yarra River are still rising in
response to the rain. At Millgrove the river level is currently at
2.17m, above the minor flood level of 2.0m. At Yarra Glen the water
level in the Yarra River is also exceeding its minor flood level of 4.1m
and is steady at 4.25m.

The Watts River at Healesville reached its peak of 2.88m early this
morning at 01:42 (05/09/2010), and is currently receding just below the
minor flood level of 2.85m.

Minor flooding is expected to affect low-lying areas adjacent to the
river (ie bicycle or pedestrian paths, parklands) until mid afternoon of
today. No roads are affected at this stage.

Major Flood Warning for the Buckland River
Issued at 9:28 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office


In the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday rainfall totals have ranged up to 88 mm at
Cheshunt in the King River catchment and up to 158 mm at Mt Buffalo in the
Ovens River catchment. Rainfall has eased overnight with totals of 10 to 15 mm
being forecast for Sunday. Stream rises are continuing, with moderate to major
flooding occurring in the King and Ovens catchments.

The expected flood levels will generally be the largest since September 1998.

Owens River upstream of Bright
The Ovens River at Bright is currently at 3.43 metres and rising (moderate
flood level 3.60 metres). The river is expected to exceed moderate flood level
in the next few hours. However, the gauge may be experiencing some technical
problems.

Buckland River
The Buckland River at Harris Lane is around 4.1 metres (major flood level 4.2
metres) and falling. Further rises are possible as a result of forecast
rainfall.

Myrtleford
The Ovens River at Eurobin is currently at 6.96 metres (Major Flood Level 5.5
metres) and rising . Further rises are expected and a peak around 7.0 metres is
possible.

Buffalo River
The Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo is currently steady around 7.64
metres (major flood level 5.0 metres). A peak around this level is expected in
the next few hours.

Rocky Point
The Ovens River at Rocky Point is at 5.39 metres (Major Flood Level 5.2 metres)
and rising. A peak around 5.8 metres is possible during Sunday afternoon.

Upper King River
The King River at Cheshunt peaked at 2.79 metres (Major Flood Level 2.60
metres) around midnight Saturday. The river is currently at 2.39 metres
(Moderate Flood Level 2.3 metres) and falling. Moderate flooding will continue
around and downstream of Cheshunt during Sunday morning.

Docker Road
The King River at Docker Road is at 4.29 metres (Major Flood Level 4.3 metres).
A peak around the major flood level is expected during Sunday afternoon.

Wangaratta
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 11.86 metres (Minor Flood Level
11.9 metres) and rising slowly. The river is likely to exceed the moderate
flood level (12.4 metres) during Sunday evening. Early indications are that the
river will peak above the major flood level during Tuesday. A forecast peak
will be provided once upstream gauges have peaked.

Major Flood Warning for the Acheron River
Major Flood Warning for the Hughes Creek

Rainfall has generally eased in the goulburn catchment, with rainfals in the 6
hours to 9am Sunday generally less than 2mm. although some isolated higher
totals have been seen.

Stream rises and moderate to majorflooding are occurring throughout the
Goulburn basin.

Upstream of Lake Eildon

The Delatite River at Tonga Bridge has fallen below the minor flood level (3.0
metres).

Goulburn tributaries below Eildon and Seymour
The Acheron River at Taggerty peaked at 3.20 metres around 1am Sunday. The
River is continuing to fall, and should fall below the Major Flood Level (3.0
metres) later Sunday morning.

The Yea River at Devlins Bridge is continuing to fall, and should fall below
the minor flood level (1.8 metres) late Sunday morning.

The Yea River at Yea is expected to peak around the Moderate Flood Level (3.9
metres) during Sunday morning.

King Parrot Creek is below the Minor Flood Level (2.0 metres) and continuing to
fall.

Sunday Creek at Tallarook is peaked at 4.58 metres around 10 pm Saturday.
(Major Flood Level 4.0 metres). The creek is continuing to fall, and should
fall below moderate flood level (3.5 metres) later Sunday morning.

Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour
Goulburn River at Trawool has exceeded the minor flood level (4.0 metres) and
is continuing to rise. It is expected to exceed the Moderate Flood Level (5.65
metres) during Sunday morning. The peak at Trawool is expected to be around 6.8
metres during early Monday morning.

Seymour
Goulburn River at Seymour had an initial peak of 6.2 metres (Moderate Flood
Level 5.2 metres) from local runoff around 1:30am Sunday. Renewed rises are
expected as water arrives from the Goulburn between Eildon and Trawool, with a
peak around 6.7 metres (Major Flood Level 7.0 m) expected between 10 pm and
midnight on Sunday.

Hughes Creek
Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road is at 3.01 metres and falling (Major Flood Level
3.6 m), and is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (2.9 metres), in
the next few hours.

Murchison
The Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 7.56 metres and rising (Minor
Flood Level 9.0 m). Significant rises are expected, with the river expected to
exceed the Minor Flood Level during late Sunday. Initial indications are that a
peak around the major flood level (10.7 metres), is expected during Tuesday.

Seven Creeks at Kialla West
Seven Creeks at Kialla West is rising, and will exceed the minor flood level
(4.5 metres), later Sunday. Initial indications are that a peak around the
major flood level (6.0 metres), will occur during Monday.

Broken River at Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale is rising, and will exceed the minor flood level
(6.8 metres), later Sunday. Initial indications are that a peak around the
major flood level (7.9 metres), will occur during Monday.

Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs
The Goulburn River at Arcadia downs is rising, and can be expected to exceed
minor flood level (9.0 metres) during Monday. A peak above the major flood
level (10.7 metres), is expected later in the week.

Shepparton
The Goulburn River at Shepparton is rising, and is expected to exceed the minor
flood level later Sunday. Initial indications are that a peak around the major
flood level (11m), is expected during Tuesday.

Major Flood Warning for the Wimmera River
Issued at 10:01 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

Rainfall has eased in the Wimmera catchment, with rainfall totals since
midnight Saturday gnerally less than 5mm.

The recorded rainfall combined with wet catchment conditions has caused
very high stream levels in the Wimmera River at Glynwylln with major flooding
expected at Glenorchy during Sunday. Also, significant flows are present in the
upper and middle reaches of the Richardson and Avon River systems.

Upstream of Horsham
The Wimmera river at Glynwylln peaked at 8.3 metres around 3 am Sunday morning.
This is the largest peak ever recorded in the Wimmera River at Glynwylln. The
river is currently at 7.19 metres and falling.

The Wimmera River at Glenorchy is currently at 4.85 metres (Moderate Flood
Level 4.75 metres) and rising. A peak around 5 metres (major flood level 4.9
metres) is expected during Sunday. This will be slightly larger than the
September 1988 flood.

Horsham and Quantong Bridge
River level forecasts for gauges around and downstream of Horsham will be
provided once upstream gauges have peaked.

FLOOD WATCH FOR NORTH EAST VICTORIA (UPPER MURRAY, MITTA MITTA, KIEWA,
OVENS AND KING CATCHMENTS)

by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

In the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday rainfall totals of up to 155 mm have been
recorded in the North East catchments. No significant rainfall has been
recorded since 9 am Sunday. Rainfall totals of 10 to 15 mm have been forecast
for the North East catchments during Sunday.

Minor to major flooding has been recorded in the North East catchments as a
result of rainfall to date. Catchment specific warnings have been issued for
the Ovens, Buffalo, Buckland, King, Kiewa, Mitta Mitta and Upper Murray Rivers.

The Bureau is monitoring the situation .

Minor Flood Warning for the Werribee River
Issued at 10:12 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Rainfall totals have eased in the Werribee River, with rainfall totals since
midnight Saturday generally less than 10mm. Areas of minor flooding are
continuing in the Werribee River

Werribee River
The Werribee River at Ballan peaked at 2.11 metres. The river is falling, and
is expected fall below minor FLood Level (1.20 metres) later Sunday.



Flood Watch for the Barwon, Moorabool, Leigh and Hovells Creek Catchments and
Otway Ranges

In the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday rainfall totals of up to 30 mm have been
recorded in the Barwon, Moorabool, Leigh and Hovells Creek Catchments. Rainfall
totals of 5mm have been forecast for Sunday.

Forecast rainfall combined with wet catchment conditions has caused minor to
moderate flooding in the Barwon and Leigh Catchments. Catchment specific
warnings have been issued for the Barwon and Leigh catchments.



Minor Flood Warning for the Campaspe River
Issued at 10:24 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Rainfall has eased in the Campaspe Catchment, with rainfall totals less than
4mm recorded since midnight Sunday. River levels are falling in the upper
Campaspe, however stream rises and areas of minor flooding are expected in the
Campaspe downstream of Lake Eppalock.

Upstream of Eppalock
The Campaspe River at Redesdale is currently below the Moderate Flood Level
(4.00 metres) and falling.

Downstream of Eppalock
Lake Eppalock is not expected to spill during this event.

Barnadown to Campaspe Weir
The Campaspe River at Barnadown peaked at 4.82 around midnight Saturday, and is
now at 3.52 metres and falling. (Minor Flood Level 4.0 metres).

Rochester
Stream rises are occurring at Rochester Syphon, and minor flooding is expected
at Rochester from late Sunday.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume
Issued at 10:41 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Rainfall totals of up to 10 mm have been recorded in the Upper Murray catchment
in the last three hours. Further rainfall of up to 10 to 20 mm has been
forecast for the next 12 hours.

Upstream of Jingellic
Snowy Hydro advise that releases from Khancoban Storage are currently at 416
m3/s = 35900 Ml/d (Minor Flood Flow 113 m3/s = 9763 Ml/d) and are expected to
decrease during today..

The Murray river at Biggara is at 2.72 metres (major flood level 3.0 metres)
and falling.

The Murray River at Bringenbrong is currently at 3.49 metres (moderate flood
level 3.4 metres) and rising slowly. The river is expected to peak above
moderate flood level in the next fw hours.

Jingellic
The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 3.71 metres and rising slowly.
The Murray River at Jingellic will exceed minor flood level (4.0 metres) during
Sunday morning. A peak forecast for Jingellic will be provided when upstream
peaks occur.

The Tallangatta Creek at McCallums is currently at 1.67 metres and falling
(minor flood level 1.6 metres).


Minor Flood Warning for the Leigh River
Minor Flood Warning for the Upper Barwon River.

In the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday rainfall totals of up to 30 mm have been
recorded in Barwon and up to 18 mm in the Leigh catchments. Since 9 AM Saturday
no significant rainfall has been recorded in the Barwon and Leigh river
catchments. Rainfall totals of up to 5 mm have been forecast for the remainder
of Sunday.

The recorded rainfall combined with wet catchment conditions has caused
significant stream rises and areas of minor to moderate flooding in the Leigh
and Barwon Rivers.

Leigh River
Leigh River at Mt. Mercer peaked at 2.61 metres (Moderate Flood Level 2.60
metres) around 9 PM Saturday. The river is currently at 2.02 metres (Minor
Flood Level 2.0 metres) and falling.

The Leigh River at Shelford peaked around 6.2 metres (Moderate Flood Level 7.0
metres) early Sunday morning. The river is currently at 5.71 metres (Minor
Flood Level 5.0 metres) and falling.

Upper Barwon River
The Barwon River at Ricketts Marsh is currently at 3.85 metres (Minor Flood
Level 3.0 metres). The river is expected to peak around this level during
Sunday.

Pollocksford
The Barwon River at Pollocksford is currently at 1.62 metres and rising. A
forecast peak will be provided once upstream gauges have peaked.

Severe weather is causing damage and flooding on roads in various regions across Victoria.

Overnight high winds and storms have also resulted in fallen trees and debris on roads - extreme care should be taken when driving in affected areas.

Major Flood Warning for the Loddon River Upstream of the Loddon Weir
Issued at 11:11 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Rainfall has eased in the Loddon River catchment, with rainfall totals since
midnight Saturday generally less than 5 mm.

Stream levels are generally peaking in the upper catchment, however further
stream rises are expected in the Loddon catchment downstream of Laanecoorie
Reservoir.

Upstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir
Bet Bet Creek at Bet Bet is continuing to fall, and is expected to fall below
the Minor Flood Level (4.0 metres) Monday afternoon.

Loddon River at Newstead has fallen below the Moderate Flood Level (4.5 m) and
is conting to fall. The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood Level
until late Sunday.

GMW adivse that Tullaroop Reservoir started to spill at 11:20 PM Saturday.
Stream levels downstream are expected to slowly rise.

Downstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir
Loddon R. D/S Laanecoorie is currently at 5.1 metres (moderate Flood Level 3.0
metres) equating to a flow of 33070 Ml/d. Releases peaked at 68,880 Ml/d late
Saturday. Flows are expected to continue falling.


Loddon R. D/S Loddon Weir is currently at 5.08 metres and rising. The Loddon
River DS Loddon Weir is expected to exceed the Moderate Flood Level (6.0
metres) later Sunday.



Moderate Flood Warning for the Wonnangatta and Mitchell Rivers.

Stream rises from rainfall in the upper parts of the Mitchell catchment are
continuing, leading to areas of minor to moderate flooding in the Mitchell
River catchment.

The Wonnangatta River at Waterford is currently at 5.95 metres [Moderate Flood
Level 4.5 metres] and continuing to rise.

Glenaladale
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is beginning to rise, and is expected to
exceed the minor flood level (3.0 metres) Sunday afternoon.

Bairnsdale
The Mitchell River at Rosehill is steady at 3.0 metres, with stream rises
expected to occur from later Sunday. A forecast peak will be provided once
upstream gauges have peaked.

Major Flood Warning for the Broken River
Issued at 11:36 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Rainfall continues in the Broken River catchment, with rainfall totals since
9am Sunday generally less than 1mm. Rainfall totals of up to 15 mm are possible
for the Broken River catchment in the next 12 hours.

The main flood waters in the Broken River are now around Benalla, with rises
downstream of Benalla expected during Sunday.

Upstream of Benalla
Holland Creek at Kelfeera is at 4.18 metres and continuing to fall. The creek
is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (4.1 metres) around early
Sunday afternoon.

Broken River at Moorngag peaked at 5.56 metres around 1 am Sunday and Broken
River at Broken Weir peaked at 178 metres AHD early Sunday morning.

Benalla
The Broken River at Benalla peaked at 4.10 metres Sunday morning (major flood
level 4.50 metres), and is now at 3.98 metres and falling.

Caseys Weir
The Broken River at Caseys Weir is currently at 3.19 metres (major flood level
3.0 metres) and rising slowly. A peak around 3.2 metres is expected around
midday Sunday.

Orrvale
Broken River at Orrvale is currently at 4.98 metres and rising. The Broken
River at Orrvale is expected to exceed the minor flood level (6.8 metres),
Sunday afternoon. Forecast of a peak at Orrvale will be provided once upstream
gauges have peaked.


MODERATE FLOOD WARNING FOR THE MACALISTER RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE GLENMAGGIE
Issued at 11:40 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

In the 24 hours to 9am Sunday rainfall totals of up to 32 mm have been recorded
over the Macalister River catchment. Since 9 am Sunday no rainfall has been
recorded in the Macalister River catchment. Rainfall totals of up to 5 mm are
possible for the remainder of Sunday.

As a result of rainfall to date and possible snow melt, high stream levels are
occurring along the Macalister River both upstream and downstream of Lake
Glenmaggie.

Macalister Catchment upstream of Lake Glenmaggie
The Macalister River at Glencairn peaked at 3.2 metres around 5:30 am Sunday
morning. The river is currently at 2.36 metres and falling.

The Macalister River at Licola is currently steady at 4.34 metres.

Further stream rises are possible during Sunday morning.

Macalister Catchment downstream of Lake Glenmaggie
Southern Rural Water advises that releases from Lake Glenmaggie are currently
at 23,000 ML/d (Moderate Flood Flow 22,000 ML/d). High stream levels and areas
of moderate flooding will occur downstream during Sunday.


Flood Watch For Greater Melbourne Catchments (Werribee, Maribyrnong, Yarra,
Dandenong And Bunyip)

in the Greater Melbourne catchments. Rainfall totals of up to 5 mm have been
forecast for the rest of SUnday.

Catchments in the Greater Melbourne area are wet as a result of rainfall over
the past month. Recent rainfall has caused some minor flooding in the
catchments with flood warnings issued for the Maribyrnong, Yarra and Werribee
rivers.

The Bureau of Meteorology in conjunction with Melbourne Water are continuing to
monitor the situation and will issue catchment specific warnings when required.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Seven and Castle Creeks Catchment
Issued at 11:55 am EST on Sunday 5 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office.

Since 9 am Saturday rainfall totals ranging from 20 to 50 mm have been recorded
in the Seven and Castle Creek catchments with isolated totals of 75 mm at
Moroko Park and 67 mm at Strathbogie. No significant rainfall has been recorded
since 9 am Sunday. Rainfall totals of 10 to 15 mm have been forecast for
Sunday.

Rainfall to date has lead to major flooding during Saturday and overnight into
Sunday throughout the Seven and Castle Creeks catchment. The rivers the Seven
and Castle Creeks have now peaked and are receding.

Seven Creeks
Seven Creeks at Strathbogie peaked at 3.37 metres (Major Flood Level 3.0
metres) around midday Saturday. The creek is currently at 2.01 metres (Minor
Flood Level 1.5 metres) and falling.

Seven Creeks at Galls Gap Rd peaked at 4.8 metres (Major Flood Level 4.0
metres) around 2:30 pm Saturday. The creek is currently at 2.24 metres (Minor
Flood Level 2.2 metres) and falling.

Castle Creek
Castle Creek at Telfords Bridge peaked at 2.58 metres (Major Flood Level 2.4
metres). The creek is currently at 1.22 metres (Minor Flood Level 1.2 metres)
and falling.

Euroa
Seven Creeks at Euroa peaked at 5.36 metres (Major Flood Level 4.6 metres)
around 7 pm Saturday evening. The creek is currently at 4.3 metres and falling.

Major Flood Warning for the Avoca River
Issued at 12:09 pm EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Rainfall has continued to ease in the Avoca River catchment, with only isolated
showers expected for the remainder of Sunday.

The recorded rainfall combined with wet catchment conditions has caused
significant stream rises and minor to major flooding in the Avoca River
catchment during Saturday into Sunday. The main flood peak is now around Yawong
Weir, with stream rises commencing around Charlton.

Upstream of Yawong Weir
Avoca River at Archdale Junction peaked at 5.14 metres early Saturday evening.
The river is currently at 5.05 metres and slowly falling.

Downstream of Yawong Weir
Avoca River at Yawong Weir is currently peaking around 5.4 metres (Major Flood
Level 5.0 metres).

Charlton
Avoca River at Charlton D/S is currently at 5.88 metres and rising (Minor Flood
Level 5.0 metres). The river is expected to exceed the Moderate Flood Level
(7.0 metres) during Sunday afternoon. A peak around the major flood level (7.5
metres) is expected early Monday morning.

Avoca River at Quambatook is currently steady at 1.28 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.0 metres). A forecast peak will be provided once upstream gauges have peaked.

Major Flood Warning for the Wimmera River
Issued at 1:13 pm EST on Sunday 5 September 2010

Since 9 am Sunday no significant rainfall has been recorded in the Wimmera
catchment. Rainfall totals of less than 5 mm have been forecast for Sunday.

The recorded rainfall combined with wet catchment conditions has caused
very high stream levels in the Wimmera River at Glynwylln with major flooding
expected at Glenorchy during Sunday.

Significant flows are present in the upper and middle reaches of the Richardson
and Avon River systems.

Upstream of Horsham
The Wimmera river at Glynwylln peaked at 8.3 metres around 3 am Sunday morning.
This is the largest peak ever recorded in the Wimmera River at Glynwylln. The
river is currently at 6.79 metres and falling.

The Wimmera River at Glenorchy is currently at 4.89 metres (Moderate Flood
Level 4.75 metres) and rising. A peak around 5 metres (Major Flood Level 4.9
metres) is expected during Sunday. This will be slightly larger than the
September 1988 flood.

Horsham and Quantong Bridge
River level forecasts for gauges around and downstream of Horsham will be
provided once upstream gauges have peaked.

Major Flood Warning for the Hughes Creek

Rainfall has generally eased in the Goulburn catchment, with rainfalls since
9am Sunday generally less than 2mm. although some isolated higher totals have
been seen.

Stream rises and moderate to major flooding are occurring throughout the
Goulburn basin.

Upstream of Lake Eildon

The Delatite River at Tonga Bridge has fallen below the minor flood level (3.0
metres).

Goulburn tributaries below Eildon and Seymour
The Acheron River at Taggerty has fallen below the Major Flood Level (3.0
metres) and is continuing to fall.

The Yea River at Devlins Bridge has fallen below the minor flood level (1.8
metres) and is continuing to fall.

Sunday Creek at Tallarook has fallen below moderate flood level (3.5 metres)
and is continuing to fall.

Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour
Goulburn River at Trawool has exceeded the minor flood level (4.0 metres) and
is continuing to rise. It is expected to exceed the Moderate Flood Level (5.65
metres) during Sunday afternoon, with a peak around 6 metres early Monday
morning.

Seymour
Goulburn River at Seymour had an initial peak of 6.2 metres (Moderate Flood
Level 5.2 metres) from local runoff around 1:30am Sunday. Renewed rises are
expected as water arrives from the Goulburn between Eildon and Trawool, with a
peak around 6.7 metres (Major Flood Level 7.0 m) expected early Monday Morning.

Hughes Creek
Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road is at has falen below the moderate flood level
(2.9 metres), and is continuing to fall. It is expected to fall bewlow the
minor food level (2.0 metres), late Sunday or early Monday.

Murchison
The Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 7.56 metres and rising (Minor
Flood Level 9.0 m). Significant rises are expected, with the river expected to
exceed the Minor Flood Level during late Sunday. Initial indications are that a
peak around the major flood level (10.7 metres), is expected during Tuesday.

Seven Creeks at Kialla West
Seven Creeks at Kialla West is rising, and will exceed the minor flood level
(4.5 metres), later Sunday. Initial indications are that a peak around the
major flood level (6.0 metres), will occur during Monday.

Broken River at Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale is rising, and will exceed the minor flood level
(6.8 metres), later Sunday. Initial indications are that a peak around the
major flood level (7.9 metres), will occur during Monday.

Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs
The Goulburn River at Arcadia downs is rising, and can be expected to exceed
minor flood level (9.0 metres) during Monday. A peak above the major flood
level (10.7 metres), is expected later in the week.

Shepparton
The Goulburn River at Shepparton is rising, and is expected to exceed the minor
flood level later Sunday or early Monday. Initial indications are that a peak
around the major flood level (11m), is expected during Tuesday.

Kiewa Valley Highway, Gundowring - closed just north of Gundowring (south of Kergunyah). Boyd Road also now closed due to flooding. Drivers should avoid the area.

Kiewa Valley Highway - closed near Dederang Gap (38.4km mark) due to flood damage to the road surface. Detour via Yackandandah until further notice.

Mansfield-Woods Point Road - closed between Jamieson and Woods Point.

Marysville Road - closed between Buxton and Marysville due to flooding of the Steavenson River at multiple locations. Signed local detours in place.

Midland Highway, Benalla - closed at the bridge over Broken River due to flooding. Detour via Hume Freeway.

Midland Highway - closed between Doyles Road, Shepparton and Benalla due to flooding. Detour via Shepparton-Katamatite Road, Katamatite-Yarrawonga Road. PLEASE NOTE: Benalla-Yarrawonga Road is also closed to traffic (see Northern Region).

Northern Grampians Road - road closed between Halls Gap and Wartook due to the Wartook Reservoir close to flooding (and is expected to flood at some stage tonight).

Stawell-Avoca Road - closed 15km from Stawell (towards Navarre) due to flooding. Signed local detours in place.

Wimmera Highway, Logan - closed at Logan due to Avoca River flooding.

Wimmera Highway, Marnoo East - closed at the Avon River (approximately 8km east of Marnoo) due to flooding. Signed local detours in place.


SOUTH WESTERN REGION

Glenelg Highway - closed between Skipton Road and Lismore-Skipton Road due to flooding of the Mount Emu Creek. Detours via Skipton Road and Lismore-Skipton Road.
