Hot one here for almost April with max of 24.4C. Back to 12C now and looks like it could rain any movement though still to score any. Most the rain sits behind the front so don’t write this one off. Tomorrow trough is intense, and behind it is very strong warm air advection (I.e., a warm front so expect lots of heavy showers with coldies, then drizzle rain). EC has got nearly 40mm for here, which will be most welcome.

Shame about those fires in the west :(

Btw anyone else had problems with wunderground? My login went missing with their system upgrade and I can’t connect a new account to my new login. Just wondering it it’s only me:?:

Maybe BOM was correct early in the week,
Tipping it was peeer group pressure to come on board with 5 to 10.
Give them a deck of cards and Jackie glazier..

I doubt it's just you. I have been having various problems too. I was on another forum where a lot of users have been complaining about problems from the system upgrade. A representative from wunderground was on the forum to say they are working to fix all the bugs, although it seems to be slow going.

Showers thickening up nicely across east central. Been getting frequent showers here, briefly heavy. Close to 2mm so far :D After such a long hot summer any rain is good rain.

Hoping this gets shared around.

Btw some bumpers falls out east. Good for setting up the alpine catchments for winter.

You should get plenty today.

The cold air is starting to move in so showers will increase for southern and mountain areas today. Warrnambool out west has picked up nearly 20mm in the last few hours so heavy shower lurking out west.

We just got our first coldie here. Just 0.4mm in it, but good to see it start. 4.4mm in the gauge so far.

I do feel sorry for those north of the divide out west. TC Trevor's moisture almost got to us, but just fell short :( System is a great "autumn" break for eastern areas into NSW (though does need follow-up).

Can't live without it,
good to hear it on the new roof ( well hardly as of all the insulation )
It's just bad timing for a 50th,
Let's test out the anti pooling Gazebo. Survived the night..

20 to 23c degree difference from the surface of the bay and 850 hPa today. Cold convection heaven. Totals are going to rack up around Melbourne's east and SE. Too south westerly for up here but might get a few mil.

Nearing 10mm here now :D still need about 30mm to get to our monthly average, but not out of the question of EC is correct.

Down to a cold 5C which puts the snowline around 900 to 1000m. Should start to see snow on the snowcams soon.

11.8mm so far, the highest fall of the year. Winter planting becoming viable.
Hoping it will clear up by late afternoon as having the partner home from the nursing home for a surprise 70th party for her, a tribe of young grands will be here so outside for a time will be a blessing. Extra special as very few thought she would still be with us.

Pouring graupel and small hail here. Just shy of 14mm now. Fog as well. Looks like winter, which is welcome after all the heat :?

The streams will go more southerly, then more westerly then more southerly then more westerly the next 36 hours as we alternate between cold and warm air advection. Should smear rainfall around a bit more than a typically swly system.

16mm now :) Forgot what coldies felt like. Probably me favourite weather, just need a rumble now (oh and snow, but about 3C too warm).

Btw check out the warm front southwest of Mt Gambier. Probably one of the best examples I’ve seen. That should bring drizzly rain later this arvo into tomorrow for southern into mountain areas. Shame it will wash away what should be a decent fall of snow on the alps.

The sun is shining brightly, a light breeze, just a light shower last night for 30 seconds which didn't register in the gauge.

A nothing system here. Next!

P.S. I'll still be watering the garden (or what's left of it) until June at this rate.

Lol I haven't seen the sun at all today. It's all dark and rainy here in Templestowe (NE Melbourne).

Slightly too southerly for my liking here - but still have got 8mm. Best of the showers going through Scoresby at the moment. We so need this to continue around here.
