Suddenly very cold here just 6c at the moment and only expected to reach 11c.
Still missing out on the rain though just 1.6mm's up to 9am and 2.0mm's at the airport.
Radar doesnt look that encouraging either.
Certainly need rain here, there was a bushfire only about 10kms from here yesterday could see the smoke
did a bit of damage too.

Sounds nice in the Dandenongs!
Very dissapointing for this area, not even any fog or drizzle here, just a biting cold dry wind. We were down to 3C earlier and 5C now. Still sitting on <50mm for the whole year and it is one quarter over already.
At least today it will be a nice change to have the dust blowing in from the south instead of the north :?

flyfisher wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 9:19 am Slightly too southerly for my liking here - but still have got 8mm. Best of the showers going through Scoresby at the moment. We so need this to continue around here.
It will go more westerly late this arvo. Currently keep thinking it’s going to push north of us, but builds south when the stream hits the bayside. Frictional convergence is working a treat. 23mm here now. Will go past 30mm within the hour at this rate.

Best rain here since December or November last year :D imagine a fair bit of local nucance flooding with drains blocked etc after such a long hot summer with massive leaf drop. The area just west of us is closing in on about 30mm for today so some decent coldie action :D

Yep, same here. Not a single bloody drop. :x

6 months of this uneventful, dry, cold boring crap coming up here in the western desert. God help us.

Fun fact for all you cold lovers - if the CBD temp fails to hit 15.3, it'll be the coldest March day in 41 years

Up to 15mm here - best rain since December last year. Really good, it's our Autumn break. Everything is very wet, creeks are up and roads have some minor flash flooding. SW flow is so good for this area.

Wild morning up here. Just passed 36mm with frequent hail and graupel showers and thick rain. Few times became very sleety. Just shy of 41mm for the event now counting the 4mm yesterday.

Locally has been about 50mm just north of me. Lots of water across roads etc. Wierd seeing yellow lawns flooded :o

Seen some photos of a decent cover at Mt Donna Buang, so suspect cold enough for snow to about 900 or 800m ATM with heavy showers.

More hail here. 9.5c and over 40mm of rain as well as all the hail that bounced out. Bloody cold when the gutters block and I got soaked clearing them. Time for a drink.

My first single digit max for this years cold season. No higher than 9.5C today since midnight but mostly around 7C all day.

Nice to see cooler weather at last. But this coming Friday looks like another total fire ban day and temps over 30c with a blowtorch Northerly. Ugh....

40mm here for today, plus 4mm yesterday so ticking along well and way ahead of the best of the models. Locally there has been over 50mm. Place looks completely different this arvo. Muddy garden, puddles, and streams flowing again :D Just shy of our monthly average now, so should get there (only happened twice in the last 14 months :o ).

Just had another heavy rain and hail shower with lightning. Few more coldies to come, then the warm front which quite unusually is packing a rainband. Proper warm fronts are rare for us, which shows what an extreme set up this one is. Wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another 20-30mm here before it clears late tomorrow. Expect that areas which have missed out today should get a bit from the warm front, so hopefully it spreads around a bit more. Definitely feel for people in the north/west with the northerly part of this system fizzing :(

Btw max of 8.1C and min of 4.7C for us. That’s getting chilly for March :D

About 6mm overnight from the warm front :D Now waiting for the last cold front to move through (it’s sat near King Island ATM). Event total on an fantastic 51mm. Falls in this area have been remarkably consistent with 45-60mm for most spots within 10-15km from here. So needed it with things so stressed after the shocking Jan and Feb...

Still need 2mm to our monthly average. Hoping we can make it. The next burst of showers should drop at least that and probably more, but may or may not arrive before 9am :?

Btw looks like -3.3C is the coldest it got in the alps so not quite a record. Timing of the coldest air wasn’t ideal in the end. It was -1 to -2C at Hotham during the afternoon but then the milder air moved in for the night so stopped it dropping much. Just to confuse people looks like we will see widespread high 20s to 30s for part of Vic next Friday with mid 30s not out of the question in the northwest :( More dust up there, I fear...

Finally something here - just hit 7mm. Macedonian, you must have picked up something worthwhile overnight if the radar totals are anything to go by?

Impressive snowfalls for March, with a good cover lying for 24hrs plus at many alpine locations, even down to modest elevations.
