Getting dark to the northeast here in Cheltenham. On-track for a direct hit at the moment.
Where's Stevco! Where's Stevco!? You've got a cell on your doorstep mate!

Line of storms approaching from NE now, near Elmore. Could be a fun afternoon.

Forget the above post, it's just developed out of nowhere. Waiting for a direct hit from the edge of that!
Parents on the other side in Cranbourne East currently having a rainfall rate of 120mm/h. !!!
I'm currently in Frankston which is lining for a direct hit. Ooohhh yeah

Looks like a multicell merge is underway in Melbourne's SE

not concerned, gardens wet, tanks full, hills are damp, car is out and its washed.
no need for fury.. Only to keep James Happy..

Right in the gap, completely misses here. Not a drop. I need it to come from Warburton direction, but I also can see in the radar frames a whole lot of rain to the NE of there just disappear as it comes over the Yarra range. Not our favorable direction.

Yes quite a few angry looking cells in the SE and heading down the Mornington Peninsula, also Phillip Island.

We need to squeeze every mm we can from this rouge system because the charts don't look promising for further rain anytime soon. It's looking very hot and dry over the new year. The weather Perth is getting is a prelude to what to expect.

Like you Stevco stooged again less than 3mm's here a very near miss.
Checked a couple of PWS's in Clyde North one had 27mm's and the other one 24mm's

Went to Jells Park East, had a great view of that cell. On the radar you could see a slight hook appendage, which can be seen in the second shot. There was a slow rotation which was fascinating to watch.

Dane, Stevco, did you get much lightning/thunder? Shame about the 2/3mm, they'll be plenty of higher totals and local flooding elsewhere down that way, the system just keeps building on itself. Falls up to 30mm.
Elsewhere across Melbourne, hopefully there is enough clearance for a bit of a recharge ahead of later this afternoon and evening with further showers and storms still possible.

That cell this morning beat me by 2 hours. I arrived in Seymour at 9am and it hit at 7am, how do you think I feel?
maybe I should endlessly whine about it
