Gone into fog here in a humid southerly. Maybe a bit of drizzle overnight for southern areas.

Some decent falls showing up in the 50km or so along the Northside of the divide. Few spots showing 10-20mm, and still raining. Good for them :D will also be solid falls out in East Gippsland tomorrow.

Hopefully we can get another statewide event soon.

Have been just on the edge for hours. A few spits and rumbles. Cell just north of Seymour really popping with mid level water vapour increasing significantly. Keeping an eye on that one

Shame that cell is sat over the military training base, so no observations. Edging south so might soon pop out over a gauge.

I'm on the edge of the edge. Tantalising close all arvo. Hoping it moves east.

Really bizzare conditions out there!
Just had a brief heavy shower drift in from the East off the bay here in Tarneit.

All since 6am. Nearly 80mm fell within a one hour period.

We had 5mm overnight. Bendigo AWS did better with 12mm.

Now that's what you call a proper rainfall event, unlike the fake "once every 3 months" rubbish that we get here.

Meanwhile it's back to watering the garden with no follow up rain.

Interesting to see that Inglewood (just West of Bendigo) got 32mm last night. One out of the box.

Just 3mm here in Seymour, but 27mm just to the north-east of us, very frustrating.

Well, Sydney has a humid subtropical climate, whereas Melbourne has a stabler, drier oceanic climate (particularly in summer). That little bit of extra heat and humidity Sydney gets make all the difference (not to mention Sydney's relative proximity to the true tropics).

If you're going to wistfully compare western Melbourne's climate to Sydney's you may as well start comparing it to Darwin's too.

I didn’t realise how dry Melbourne was until I moved here, growing up in Perth you always hear that Melbourne is so wet and
dreary 🤷‍♂️. I love Melbourne but I do miss the quite spectacular winter downpours and the summer heat in Perth.

6mm since midnight from this south easterly flow which seems to be training over me.

Very surprised

EC picked it, which is impressive. Just 1mm in FC with the main convergence sat a few km's to our southwest. Around Ferntree Gully it was pouring this morning - thick drizzle almost rain.

Good to get dribbles ahead of a pretty hot week ahead. Couple of spikes days around Saturday and then the following Friday.

Gloomy morning. 4.3mm here and a light drizzle currently. Adds a bit of a top up to what otherwise looks like a fairly dryish week coming up.
