Sure has been a strong gradient, with good falls in quite confined areas. We’ve not been so lucky this time, with only around 9mm for the event, but given that June was above average it’s still a reasonable top-up for now.
Quite a remarkable morning at my place, we had been in thick mist since 7pm last night and had a late, very misty minimum of 0.0C at about 9am this morning. No frost at all.
The sky cleared about an hour ago and the temp has struggled up to 3.1C. Thats a cold day for a non weather event week.

Strange day here too. After a -2degC frost (late min at nearly 8am), we've had clear skies and it made it to 12c at 2:30pm. But since then the temp has dropped to 9c, the breeze has picked up from the SW, and it's still sunny....
I get the feeling tomorrow might be our coldest for the year if it's cloudy.

Bitter day here - no sign of the sun, highest temp I've seen is 6C and it was 3C for hours. Luckily not much wind!
Surprisingly we had plenty of sun here. I had a late max of 4.1C but it was under 3C for most of the day.
A proper cold winter day

Absolutely freezing here. Had snow in the rain at 2C recently, and drove through proper snow (though not settling) at nearby Clarkes Hill at 700m; just a little higher than us.
The day has the grey, cold, full cloud cover feel that brought us an unexpected good cover of snow a couple of years ago, and which I recall HB describing as being down to the large elevated area around us (a high plain of sorts) and stagnant air. Hope I'm not misquoting!
Some good rain falling out to our West - 8mm at Charlton so far which is very welcome. And probably a decent bit more early next week looking at the charts.
Chilly max of 6.7C here today. One of those days where you can get snow to low levels as we’ve developed a continental (almost polar) airmass at the surface over the last couple of days, and now the rains moved in over the top. Bit like an event we had in 1995 when it snowed here for nearly 24 hours, but in that one the low continued to develop whereas this ones weakening now. No rain here yet, and only execting a mm or two (but happy to be surprised).
Good to see the moderate falls our west into north central.

I remember the July 1995 well. Only 4.7c here that day.
The 12mm received today is a great help. We've been having a 'green drought' this winter so hoping for more decent rainfalls soon.
It was snowing here when i arrived home from work but now it has reverted to rain unfortunately.
Absolutely frigid day here with a temp range of 0.1C to a max of just 1.9C.
I dont think ive ever seen such a low max on a day that was not forecast to be anything other than normal.
Trentham had 2.6C max
And Hesket, just to the north of Mt Macedon had 2.4C

Trentham had 2.6C max
EC had snow locally to 700m so no surprise. These little lows thrown up from the pole often pack low level snow as the low levels are often very chilly.

I suppose what i meant was that nothing much was said about it. No real mention on the weather report last night on telly and certainly not much talk about it here.
Ballarat ended up with its coldest July day ever.
