I hope the get it in the country, they need it. I drove to Lithgow in NSW last weekend via the Hume and the only green in the whole trip was from Mt Macedon to Broadford, the rest of the 850km trip was desolate and brown.
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m

Sort of related... is it just me or is it very dark for this time of day?

It feels like it's 7am with all the street lights still on

Nope I was thinking the exact same thing, in fact I had to turn on the outside lights here at work. I've rarely had to do that at 8:00am.

Bugger all rain here, don't think we even got 1mm.

A welcome 10 mm here so far. Light, steady rain since about 4.00 this morning. Can already notice the grass looking greener! :D

Complete surprise but we've scored 17.6mm today. Was thinking maybe 2-3mm. Not often the models (and my guesses) are so wildly out just a few hours out.

Decent totals across the north - not big - but handy.

PS posting from 41K feet in the air (gotta love airplane wifi) :D

Would have to be one of my worst solar days ever (6 years+), a miserable 0.3kws. Rainfall 3.6mm.

12mm here, wet dull old day. The nimbostratus I think was the culprit for the darker than usual day across the state.

Got caught in the rain shadow unfortunately, so only 2.3mm here today. Very windy overnight. I woke up quite a few times to the howling wind and things rattling about outside.

2mm more this morning so just shy of 20mm. That’s about five times what I was expecting.

Brief clearance for today/tomorrow then a cool to cold and showery spell coming up. Snow levels should drop quite low by later in the coming week, with potential for a major low stalling to our south and 850Ts dipping towards -2 to -3C :D

Yes the rain has been good another 12.5mls yesterday.
But couldn't give a toss about snow, so I don't want it to be any colder.
just keep raining :D

3mm here, full rain shadow effect. But after 108mm for May, no complaints (yet!) and rapt to see north of the ranges finally getting some.

Great to see most of North Vic get something and most in the 8-15mm mark with higher falls in hills,
After tomorrow nights front, wont see much in the N rest of week NW.

NE looking great for isol 100mm for the week and widespread 20-40mm.

South and Mount Vic also going to have a wet week, SW Vic and NE Vic will do best this week.

Wet, cold windy winterish week with a cold to almost very cold burst Fri-Sunday.

Im going to enjoy the sun tomorrow
Bring on the heat and stroms

Weird weather last night.
It was -0.3 by midnight in Trentham and then the temp shot up to 6.9C by 3.30am.
Same thing happened here but less of a variation and nothing even approaching zero.
4.3C was my lowest at Mt Macedon whilst Moorabbin airport was 1.9C 😨

It seems a bit moisture starved at the moment - unless it can connect with that subtropical jet.

If we were guaranteed a couple days like the last 2 once a week I could do winter. Ripper couple days for June! Hopefully get some rain tonight but not holding too much hope.

Some sparks out west and NW near the border, lets hope it builds as it heads east.
