40.6c yesterday, a little hot at 527m with late sparks to the west.

Back to 30c and a 15 DP here now.

Next weekend keeps producing an explosive tropical set up. More about storms than a rain event but the monsoon is now coming into play :)

Already 34 degrees here! And with a ~25% humidity too. It's a nasty day for sure today.

Perfect temps here with nice breeze off the bay
(Apologies to those inland..I don't know how u do it)
Yes Jasmine been watching with interest the monsoon finally kicking into gear and wow it is certainly a doozy
Added with the SST's and temps next weekend I think somewhere is going to get slammed next weekend/early next week
The water at point Nepean is 21 😲

Already 37c at midday. Ugh...

And we'll probably only get 2mm at best on the Australia Day weekend. Hard to believe it was cold last Saturday afternoon.

42 degrees for the second day in a row. Brutal heat, dead birds outside falling from trees.

I enjoy hot weather but the saddest thing is the effect in all wildlife of days in a row over 40. Birds, bats and possums really suffer and weaker ones die.

We have cloud covering today which is helpful but the closest PWS at Newborough (Moe) is showing 33.9°C a contrast to home 26°C.

Yeah, it's horrendous. So over it and today feels worse than yesterday. Hurry up autumn and winter.

Nearly 30degC warmer now than it was this time last week.

Been so humid down here on the coast. At times been sea fog visible towards the Prom, while the temperature has been in the mid 20s.

More nasty numbers in northern Vic, NSW and Qld. This is turning into a notable heat event. Not quite record breaking at longs run sites. but not that far off.

The 45.6C at Swan Hill marks the third day of the month where we’ve topped 45C somewhere in Victoria. In the past we’d have three about ever 15 years, and we’ve that many in about 15 days. Am expecting a chance for a couple before this is done :(

Worth checking out the stat from Peter Hannam...

Victoria today had its 29th day of 45C or warmer since 2001. In the previous 17 years (1984-2000) there was just one such day: 'Significant' heatwave roasts south-eastern Australia

Bit of rain on the radar, but most is virga atm. Progs trying to produce the odd shower next few days, so fingers crossed.

Looking at the next 10 days, we're on track for our hottest ever month. Nothing under 34c for a daily max...

That’s not good :( Southern Vic gets a few milder days now, ahead of a hot long weekend. Current batch of model runs suggest three, maybe four mid to high 30s for Melbourne.

39c here today, felt hotter than yesterday with a higher dew point. About 6 degrees above the BoM and models forecast. With only 3mm for the month, it's going to be nasty dry by next week. The synoptics for next weekend looking very interesting ....

That trough line sure has been slow moving. We maxed out at 27c today, so a big temperature difference across the central ranges. Very dry here now too. We really need some decent rain. What are you thinking about next weekend? I see the BOM are currently going for hot and dry on Saturday.

Hillybilly what will prevent the Melbourne temperature from getting into the 40s next weekend?

She's humid tonight, that's for sure.. Have I wound up in Sydney somehow?

Wish some storms would take advantage of this... seems like such a waste :(
