From only having had a few drops when I posted @ 4:50PM I now have 8mm in the gauge, certainly happy thus far. Small tank approaching full the larger yet to check but was working on 15 - 20mm to fill it.

Radar looked impressive, but dumped barely enough rain to wet the ground.

1.4mm here so far. Few good rumbles, but mostly light rain. Looked like 2-6mm from around Ringwood to near Upper Ferntree Gully from those storms, which mainly missed here.

All models showing bumpers falls for western, northern and central areas (though less as usual go further south and east). Hard to read the details as each run is wiggle a fair bit which is pretty common for complex slow moving set ups.

Radar looks very good, but the lots of rain/not much rain boundaries are pretty sharp with rain tending to train around the developing low.

Some very heavy rainfall entering the northwest with Mildura up to 46mm (that about double the monthly average) and spots near Ballarat approaching 20mm under the second band.

Just steady light rain here. Probably end up with 20-30mm perhaps?

EC is hinting at a massive rain system brewing this time next week...

All bark and no bite so far. 1.8mm, just enough to wet the back deck.

Plenty of flooding jobs showing up on emergencyvic.info in Mildura and Red Cliffs (just over a year since the last big event up there)

5mm from that storm earlier. Now trying to rain steadily but it's all going towards the west. Frustrating for us but good for them

Just checked the gauge while the rain has eased off a bit. 10mm so far, mainly in light/moderate rain but the odd tropical deluge for a minute or two.

I can see how totals could mount up quickly with this system.

And just like that it disappears.

And now wait for it to completely clear and become fine.

6.5mm here so far. Flood warning? lol. Seriously, out west seem to have done well if the radar is anything to go by.

Swan Hill just had 24mm. The Mallee has certainly copped it tonight.

Great to see some significant falls across parts of western Victoria with more to come overnight and tomorrow through those regions. This event was always going to be a western focused event. Central parts should see some relatively healthy falls accumulated by the end of it, just have to wait for the rain to re-establish overnight and tomorrow. It’s a very complex system and as mentioned above, tiny movements here and there by the system can mean the different between seeing 5-10mm or double that, especially with storm activity still in play tomorrow. Anyway, I was glad to see some lightning and hear some thunder this afternoon, now listening to soothing rain on the roof before a 4am start tomorrow. I best get some sleep! :)

Glad to finally see some rain again. It's been a long time since I saw this much on the radar! Can't wait for the unstable weather to continue!

The rain has mostly been West of here. And probably too much there as well. Swan Hill Up to 66mm. Less than 10mm here.

4.4mm in FC so far. Always going to be marginal overnight for us so no surprises. Big falls through the west, which I suspect won't be welcome by croppers trying to get crops cuts :? Crazy that we keep getting these big out of season rain events, but struggle within the (Cool) cropping season :(

Progs pretty divergent today, ranging from a couple of mm's to more than 20mm. Main focus for rain will be west central, southwest and northern country when it will rain bucket loads.

BTW tomorrow is shaping up as a big storm day in central and eastern areas. Very unstable with LIs dropping well negative and excellent moisture. The flow is mainly northeasterly so things will form near the ranges and drift south. Could be some big falls locally. Similar Saturday bit a bit less extensive.

Rainfall has been heavy in the past hour here. It won't be long before we reach 25mm...
