Not sure about this new fangled radar..

Image looks good, but it's barely drizzling!

Light for a few minutes then moderate for a short while..

If this goes on for a number of hours, we may just have our most substantial fall in quite some time down in the outer se (wouldn't take a lot :D )

Kudos to hillybilly for interpreting the models correctly. BOM had a 'few showers' up until this afternoon, but this rain is most certainly not a shower!

edit: sudden flurry took us over the 10mm mark - officially content

Looks to be clearing now with upper SW'ly flow set in and the little upper trough moved through. 11mm in FC with thick thick fog in the hills this morning. Bit less than I was expecting, but a useful top-up.

Might get a bit of drizzle around central areas, but don't usually find southerly flow much good for drizzle. Should be a stormy arvo in the north, particularly east of (about) Bendigo.

The Scoresby AWS was playing up a couple of days back, so probably has a problem (maybe spider or leaf ;) as can happen).

Healthy falls for many areas which is good to see.

13.6mm here and very welcome. Currently thick fog. Looks like a couple more light showers to come, but not much more.

Just 2mm overnight. I don't think we'll get much again today. Two big fails in as many weeks.

Grass is going brown now.

That's no good SB :\ Unfortunately this event was never really slated for north of the divide other than the storm chance. Still good progs regarding storms potentially for the bendigo area later this arvo. Skies clearing from the west now will certainly help the potential.

Nice band of showers moving west from about Hamilton with cloud thickening. Wonder if it will reach Ballarat and Melbourne later on?

Oh and 12 mm of rain here from last night.

14mm from that persistent band last night. More would've been nice, but it was a good, soaking fall, which is always better than a sudden downpour that ends up in stormwater.

Hopefully we get another drink while the topsoil is moist.

13mm recorded overnight back home in Burnside Heights. First time in absolute ages we have hit double figures for a single rain event. :D

That band of showers tracking in from the west has just arrived here at work.

Good to see some healthy falls around the place. Drove to my parents yesterday afternoon but we didn't observe any rain here overnight unfortunately. They need to start to see some falls down this way to keep the dairy season on the up over Summer. Otherwise, it's been a lovely sunny day today! :)

I recorded around 18mm all up here in Tarneit, guess I was in the sweet spot in the west last night. :D

Couple of light/moderate showers this arvo have added another mm to the total in FC. Damp humid day but no lift for us now and southerly capping the instability.

The odd thundery in the north ATM but not much organisation. Best looks to be over the northern Wimmera and South Mallee in the radar hole.

1.2mm in the gauge this morning. Still thick fog, but light mizzle at best. It's been foggy here for about 36 hours without a break so plenty of moisture around.

Expecting a dry day here today, but might sneak a shower or two. Main focus is the far east and near the southwest corner of the low which has a bit of locally enhanced instability.

Next systems showing up for the weekend.

Non-event here. The cooler air seems to have moved in quicker than expected yeaterday thus killing convection and rain. The forecast 5-10mm became nothing.

Some decent storms in the Wimmera though. Nhill with 37mm is a standout and the cells looked very photogenic on Facebook.

0.4mm of mizzle in the gauge this morning. Still foggy, so nearly 72 hours almost without a break here. Expecting sun to pop out pretty quickly today.

Absolute pea-souper down here this morning, although it is quite shallow. Driving to Scoresby for work, it was foggy in Cranbourne West, sunny in Dandenong South and very cloudy in Scoresby.

It's like 3 different worlds all within 30 kilometres.

Looking forward to a sunny day once the cloud burns off which is lingering over most of Melbourne.
