Yeah throwing it down now here too. If the radar is to be believed (who really knows) it should be for the next few hours. Looks like a good night ahead :D

As soon as I hit send on my post above a big hole appeared over Geelong and now the taps been turned off. Some of the rain at the FFA cup match with Sth Melb vs Sydney FC is incredible!

Ah tropical heavy rain and near whiteout conditions? Wasn't expecting this. Get your indoor plants outside now!

Been off line driving home from Byron. Long drive, but always enjoy watching the landscape change and changing weather patterns on the road :D One I haven't seen before, nearly ran over a large tortoise on the Melba Highway. Perhaps preparing for a flood :o

Heavy rain here ATM. Just passed 5mm. Hoping to crack 30mm to give things a good drink ahead of the warmth next week and catch up on the October average (October is one of our wettest month). Currently looks like the best statewide event in a long time.

btw just nasty how dry it is around Sydney. Crispy dry from around Newcastle to Goulburn. A westerly gale and they will be in big trouble with fires if it doesn't rain soon :(

Torrential rain here under the squall. White out. Feels like the most intense sustained spell since the crazy storm in December last year.

15mm now :D

EDIT> back to light rain. 16mm in the gauge now.

22.8mm in the gauge this morning. AWS near us has 22.6mm so good consistency (we are usually a little wetter when the rain comes from the northwest). Good result - about double what the models tended to have, but did think they we're underdoing it. Not quite the 30mm I ordered, but should see a few mm's more tomorrow so might get there.

A good general event, though parts of west central, Gippsland and northwest have missed out.

16.5mm here. Being a bit further south-east of the Divide, we tend to miss somewhat with events like this compared to sites a little further north and west - plenty of 20-25mm results only a few km away, so a good system overall for this area.

The Laverton radar is back!! Wooohooo!  :brightbanana:

Handy drop last night, although with the forecast heat coming up it's nowhere near enough, especially considering the lack of rain we have had out this way.

Nice drop of 11mm where we are. Got heavy for a period around 9PM or so, then eased off by 11.30pm and mostly cleared out overnight.
