Very wintery here this morning - 5C, windy and another 3mm in the gauge. Finished the month on 88.5mm, 11mm above average. Ytd is just 4.5mm below average so tracking well.

Amazing snow pics from Tassie this morning with falls to very low levels (200m) and the Mt Mawson ski tow buried (again!).

A few heavy showers here this morning with the last one producing some hail too. Quite July-ish out there. Very bleak and gray

Been traveling so offline for a couple of days. Now just north of Byron, where it's rather cool and wet :? Might well crack the ton here the next two days, before the trough moves offshore. Really need it up here with the place dried to a crisp and heaps of smoke form fires :? Not like the northcoast NSW that I'm used to.

Meanwhile back in FC scored 6mm from the trough Friday night into Saturday. Got lucky with the first bit, then managed to miss most of the swly showers. Again the dry air masses really hurting our rainfall prospects. Finished on 100mm for the month which makes five months in a row below average for us. That's starting to become pretty significant for us, and not a good lead in to the summer season. Hopefully the next system delivers better for us.
