I'm struggling to interpret the charts atm (even more than normal ) - the last lot looked wet at the start and dry at the end, yet it was almost flipped in our area - a few spits at the start then an inch at the end.
Latest BOM 4 day just looks like 'regulation' cold fronts except for tomorrow's low. Yet BOM's forecast for us has little interest for the whole period.
Is a wierd system as the Synoptics look great, but the rainfall doesn't. Seems to be again moisture starved with little coming in off the Indian Ocean. Thinking maybe 10-20mm locally, and quite showery but never really gets much beyond that. Both Wednesday and Friday show some instability with troughs so a rumble is a chance.
To the north shocker of a heatwave with newly set records likely to fall again I hope that heat stay to our north
Morning all
I'm down on the island for the rest of the week so my reports will be coming from there.
Had some overnight showers push through here, currently overcast with not much else happening. Radar however suggests overwise.
Can't wait for the Laverton site to come back online. This Broadmeadows thing is a joke.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.

Geez not much happening. 0.2mm in FC today, but that's it. Month is turning out to be quite dry apart from the southwest and south central coasts.
And parts of west central - we're on 86mm mtd vs 77mm September average. Ytd tracking quite well too; just 7mm short of end of September average.
In 5 days the garden has burst into life. PS where is Geoff ?
Glad to be home from windy Welshpool, Melbourne weather isn't that bad after all.
Next to head to the Wimmera and see how shocking it is that way, I hear in the grapevine, not that pleasant on old bones..
I'll test the rain out, about to hang out Donna Covers.. hope they do get wet..
Was in Bendigo on Wednesday and Thursday. Absolutely marvellous weather, particularly on the Wednesday. Warm and sunny!
Parents reported a thunderstorm at their place this afternoon. That's their second storm in a few days, with a third on track at the moment. Looks like a few showers moving across Melbourne region now, maybe a rumble or two if we're lucky.

Here's a nice view of our city (including a perfectly placed rainbow) as I came down the Westgate bridge earlier today as some showers started to develop.
Ahhhh Melbourne...
