Another cracking snow and graupel showers. Temperature dipped to 1.7C. Got a little bit of settling... first for the year. Was about 50:50 graupel and snow flakes.
Few photos. Tried to get a decent photo of it snowing but not great on the iPhone cam with low light and misty.
Plenty of flurries under 500m now around the Macedon Ranges. Looking at the sat pic and the size of the southern fetch, the real cold stuff is still coming. I'm thinking flurries tonight at 200 to 300m is not out of the question. Maybe Eureka observation deck, Sunbury, you yangs etc could be a snow target.

You mean it's not over yet? I just wish there were a few more showers

If you look at the sat pic, there is plenty coming through western bass strait. It's getting quite a good southerly fetch. If it is still fetching after dark, its going to be quite white at low levels around central Vic.
Couple more snow showers this arvo. Cracker just before with big flakes coming down fast. Settled very lightly. Had a good dozen or snow showers, and basically no rain today.
Hearing reports of snow at Red Hill, and saw sleet myself in The Basin at about 150m.
Lucky with the stream with showers sneaking around the west of Tasmania and getting us. We usually go into the Tas rainshadow with deep southerly flow.
Currently at the G for the footy & it is absolutely freezing here. Just the one shower so far during the first quarter. It's almost cold enough to snow here!
Had a decent hail shower at home earlier this morning before leaving.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
Some good snow showers here today, but still hasn't managed to settle. Best chance was probably first thing this morning when we had snow at 1C but more a frosty look than true snow on the ground.
