Some impressive numbers this morning in pockets. Avalon coldest July night on record (though digital record is only 20 years). Sites like Moorabbin and Viewbank pretty consist with a once every few years frost night
But... darn wind all night up here in Ferny Creek, quite gust at time has seen us fail to dip below 4C. Shame that wind doesn't mix down to the flats and send some of the -1c air rushing up the hill
Just a quick list of records or significant numbers at long run sites.
Deniliquin (-5.6) and West Wyalong (-5.1) annual records and a July record at Rutherglen. Canberra's -8.7 was the lowest at the airport since 1971 (although there was a -8.8 at the city site in 1982).
