Flash flooding here. Just checked the gauge 25mm in 15 minutes
Which suburb of Bendigo? I'm currently in East Bendigo and less than 10 mm here. I'll have to check the gauge in Kangaroo Flat when I get home!

Dark as the night here at work in Mount Waverley, and down she comes!
Not a breath of wind, extremely heavy rain, almost mesmerizing against the backdrop of still gumtree leaves.

Good steady moderate rain here for the last 15 minutes, much more use than tropical downpours.
Showers and bands of rain increasing now from the west and northwest.
Noticed red cells showing up in the radar hole over in the Wimmera, must be big storms there.

This next line of cells coming from the north west are forming rapidly on the forward side from the parent cells along a 300 km wide gust front, which are tapping into a tropical water canon. If this moves slow, I wouldn’t want to be on the SES switchboard for the afternoon shift

Just drove all the way from Bayswater to Parkdale. Was black as dog guts up in Bayswater and just as I got to the Burwood Highway, downpour! Has been raining heavy the entire way, drive was much slower obviously, complete white out at some stages. Managed to see some flangs in the rear view mirror too and one crack of thunder through the car!
Here in Parkdale, raining heavily currently. Plenty of lightning and thunder too, awesome stuff!!!

Radar seems to be underestimating
Wouldn't want to be driving into a big red cell with these rainfall rates

Bendigo AWS scored 26mm in past 30 minutes. Some localized flash flooding.
Monster of a storm west of Birchip according to radar (and that's in the middle of the radar hole!)

I agree Wilko.
I was outside before and a shower developed over my head here yet there was nothing on the radar.
Starting to cross everything here that I get something, fingers, toes, and I'll even cross the dog's tail later if I have to!

North Bendigo, rain was really heavy for about 10-15 minutes.

Keep an eye on that multi cell cluster coming from Blackwood and Daylesford. I think it has your name on it

Sky is getting dark towards the north and west, watching that cell over Blackwood area moving towards the Marsh.

Round 1 all over red rover in the East, even some blue sky floating over, bring on Round 2!
Hopefully it can wait until after the commute back down the peninsula, do not feel like being in stuck under one of these cells in peak hour!

That mothership in the Southern Mallee looks nasty. STW out for that part of Vic too.

Scrapped 6mm for today now, so event up to nearly 10mm. That last band dropped a few 20mm+ falls in the middle eastern burbs.
Waiting for the next lot inbound from the north then northwest.
