Launceston had the maximum temperature in Tasmania today with 26.3 degrees. Some decent totals in the storms yesterday afternoon with Upper Esk in the North East Highlands recording 48mm with 36mm in half an hour!! Mathinna and Upper Blessington also had 20 mm. Rain hasn't been recorded in Launceston since the 19th February.

Nice weather... well would be if we would rustle up a storm or two (given all the warmth and humidity). We sneaked 1.6mm of drizzle yesterday, with a lot more under the trees (from drip with the very thick fog). Didn't have a gauge but looked like 5mm or so under the trees going by the dampness :o

Quite unstable today, but southerly steering isn't good for Melbourne. The area around Macedon through Ballarat looks the best pick. Wouldn't rule out something in the Yarra Valley or eastern burbs, but not ideal so will need luck on our side. Lots of showers out east with more heavy falls in Gippsland. Lots of rain on the NSW coast.

Looks like fog or drizzle again for Sunday and Monday morning into central areas.

EC, GFS and ACCESS all showing something late next week. EC and GFS have been producing heavy fall on some runs so some hope we may see this pattern break down.

At the air show currently and definitely building between macedon and ballarat. To my south is blue sky.

Good buildup of cumulonimbus to my north.

Welcome to the dry desert plains Stevco, I guess I could associate Avalon as part of my territory. I can see the same build up from my kitchen window here in Tarneit. Some big towers!

Huge difference east to west. Cranbourne was lushis green and beautiful. Avalon is a semi-desert like Weatherviewer said

Shower just popped up near Kyneton, might be some hope here.
Saw something unusual outside this morning, i think it is called "cloud".
I think it is meant to bring rain. will cross my fingers.
Lots more of that stuff around now!!!!!

Another hot one here today with a max of 25C. Humid, but southerly killed off the convection early (had a couple of Cu go up then fade). Storms basically where expected. Similar tomorrow and Monday. Maybe the odd shower or drizzle patch in coastal parts as well.

Stuck in this warm mostly dry pattern til Friday. Hopefully something at the end of the sequence, but progs still not sure :(

Plenty of sparks nearby but didn't register in the gauge. Malmsbury just north of here had 11mm, lightning strike fire around Elphinstone.

Still not much changing on the models for this week but things might be changing next the weekend. Darwin's BoM forecast for tomorrow looks interesting :)

Edit - Marong apparently got 30mm+. Very hit and miss.

Very foggy here ATM and trying to drizzle. Otherwise the same just keeps rolling. Another mid to high 20s day in the south with a bit of convective activity near the ranges. Hot in the north. Monday looks the same, and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday. Something might change on Friday, but every model run is different. Some of the runs have this whole pattern resetting and going for another week :?

Got to 32c yesterday and the torture of missing rain from storms or a rain band continues....

Looks like there will be bubbling again today but not as much lift as yesterday. There are 2 monster highs both below 40 degrees south moving across. There is a small hope that the tropical low / cyclone near Darwin might break things up in a week but it seems unlikely. For Kyneton, unless the pattern can break down soon we are now heading into the terrority of the driest start to a year since 2009. Just hope that big north westerly stays away until the pattern breaks down.

Very muggy out there, thankfully not hot enough to make it uncomfortable.
This weather is very reminiscent of Northern NSW, Coffs Harbour for example when they get those moist humid winds off the Pacific.
