Looking quite stormy just south and west of here. A few thundery showers showing up on the radar. Now waiting to see if they develop like EC and GFS have been suggesting.

Nice day... my kind of summer day :D

NSW has been like a furnace :sun: with a heap of record broken including the hottest day state wide and hottest temperatures in the Sydney basin in February.

Now there's something you dont see everyday.

A very very narrow train of showers west-east about 40km long heading straight for here.

Looks like that 1 to 2mm forecast is out the window

Not much on the radar but there's definitely thunder approaching from the west. :?

Plenty of thunder here and it feels like the temperature is dropping. Right in line for it with luck.

Cracking little storm here. About six close cracks and then a brief heavy shower. 1mm of rain.

Hoping that was just the entree ;)

Sat out under cover in the excitement,
very unexpected, can't pick it ever..
few drops of rain, presume not the 1mm like above the hill.
Nice Rainbows.

That stuff currently crossing the south west coast near Geelong is probably going to be our best chance of getting anything. Nothing to report here yet.

By the way widespread 47 degrees for the Sydney metro area is just astonishing

Very pleasant for cricket today apart from the result! Few scattered brief showers this evening, might get a bit wet in the West tonight then turn 'cold' for the next 48 hrs. Fark 17 degs MAX tmoz, might have to get the fire going!

Cool and showery up here this morning. Had nearly 3mm since 9am which is good for freshening things up after a couple of warm days this week. Looks cool and showery the next two days - thinking we could well scrape 10mm or so here. Has been a remarkable summer here with regular rain well above average temperatures but no sustained intense heat. Garden looks a treat. Shame every summer isn't like this here....

Thinking the same. The fireplace provides for a bit of fuel reduction burning for all those leaves and branches blown around the garden ;)

I don't know about cool Strato, GFS has it looking positively freezing!
If this chart comes off I reckon Macedonian will be seeing snowflakes falling past his windows! :o

Cold outbreaks in February are the bomb. Feb 2005 and 1993 among two examples that come to mind.
