Loving this cool breeze. Stats for the thread- 1mm, PWS heat index (feels like) record of 43.9c, 4 rumbles.

Year total has rocketed up to 47.6mm

Looks like a bit of a cool outbreak next weekend too.
I don't know about cool Strato, GFS has it looking positively freezing!
If this chart comes off I reckon Macedonian will be seeing snowflakes falling past his windows! :o

Sure is Macedonian. When Bruce came onstage it started raining a little bit and when he finished it rained a bit more but not enough really to get wet. I loved the rainbow across the crowd and so did Bruce, he said it was good luck. Hanging Rock is an awesome venue.

That 10,000 hectare fire north east of Dubbo now showing a 200 km/h smoke drift heading south east on the latest sat pic. It's increased its size by 2,000 hectares within the last 2 hours. Looking at the SW wind change on BoM, it's not far off that area. That will be one ominous fire front when the change hits.

I noticed that. Brings back memories of Black Saturday near Broadford :o

Back to winter here (which is pretty typical for our summers in the Dongs :D ). Foggy and drizzly and had nearly 8mm in the past day and a bit. Today looks quite drizzly... should add a couple more.

Shocking situation in NSW yesterday. Friday was state wide the hottest day on record for them, and then they broke that record by nearly 2C on Saturday. That heatwave would have to sit in the top four of the last century alongside 1939, 2004 and 2009 :? So so lucky we largely missed it in Vic.

Pretty boring week coming up. Stable and mild to warm. Pretty typical second half of Feb weather.

Freezing here, 9 C, drizzle and strong SW wind. The wood heater has been going since yesterday morning and haven't regretted it.

I'm also starting to think the worst of summer might be over for us (as opposed to further north). Not saying there isn't the possibility of March heat, but it's never as bad as what December-Feb can throw up simply because of the reduced sunlight hours - maximums can still get high, but the big temps don't last for as many hours.
