I may be wrong but ABC radio via BOM predicted this 2 weeks ago rain from system streaming from WA.
The cyclone didnt eventuate, but wet stuff did.

Call it 3/4 inch here so far.

Waded out to see the Nylex before it is completely dark, the inner tube was full so 25 mm.
Have two spiders cohabitating in the outer tube of the Nylex, very considerate of them not to foul up the system.

Same here... just passed 28mm. Half way to the February average. Was thinking about an inch was a good outcome for this system so everything now is a bonus :D

Despite being a messy system it's giving most areas a good soaking now.

Up to 40mm now and still raining; already our best 24 hr total since September (we virtually missed the deluge at the end of December.)

Had roof damage yesterday from a falling Mountain Ash branch, so while we needed the rain for the garden and water tank, we didn't really want it until the roof is properly fixed. So far so good, even with it tipping down outside. :D

38mm here now. Still coming down nicely. Garden really needed this :D (and just in time with a couple of hot ones coming up).

Going to be some big falls when this ends with the band very slow moving, and this one going to stall somewhere near the divide for tomorrow.

Lovely drop Gordon. I see a gauge at Ballan is 55mm. Slow start here over the range.... but it's getting better.

And nice drop HIllybilly..... you are heading for 50+

Now, if only this is followed up by something later this coming week... We need the moisture down the west coast pulled this way!

Hmmm, latest GFS reckons next to nothing tonight now. I smell a monumental fizzer for us.

GFS has been flaky for us with this system; EC did better, although none of the models I look at (add Access-G & R) really picked quite this much for our area, which looks like getting fairly general 30-50mm falls.

Hope you get something decent Strato - 512km radar still looks as if you're in with a chance?

Rain has picked up a little now. EC has 20mm between now and tomorrow morning so a good test for it. I can only see another 10 mm to be honest. We'll see.
