What an amazing day. To even think about those rainfall rates of 400mm/ph is unbelievable. Some of the dew points were unbelievable as well. We are probably lucky there wasn't a bigger trigger or the storms would have been destructive

Yep, that one is also around me..... interesting on how they will react in the northern suburbs
Just check the sounding from this morning. Precipitable water was 49mm. That's 5mm above the old record (or about 10%). Guess that is what happens when you set up a freakish weather system tapping moisture from record warm oceans Thinking that we are lucky in Melbourne that we missed that ex-TC otherwise today would have been way worse..
More storms in bound. Need 28mm to crack the ton...
Would love to be woken by crashing rain in the early hours of the morning. A follow up would soak deeply and really help us out for the months ahead, which I think are going to be HOT HOT HOT.

Looks like it's decaying as it hits the city's doorstep
Cape and heat is not as good as this afternoon for Melb but round 3 (small round) is going up here. I'm keeping a eye on the sat pic IR for anything new that might fire up and head down to Melbourne.
