Yeah the airmass hasn't changed much. Just knocked a few degrees off due to the rain. Dew points still above 20 and it feels like Byron bay, not Melbourne

Manual gauge says 48mm here. And with that we reach our monthly average.

Still don't believe we'll get more.

67mm here, peak rainfall rate of 501mm/hr... I kid not. I've seen it crack 100mm/hr pretty frequently and once or twice seen 200mm/hr. staggering rainfall rates. Progs had record humiditynwith this system a week out and I reckon that would have to be a record rain rate.

Lots of flash flooding around here. Our garage flooded and our pool flooded. Thankfully the spa took most,of the dirt otherwise that would have been 40000 litres of water needing to be dumped :o

Currently pouring again. Bit of back building and you would rule out us cracking the ton from here. There are two troughs at play and the initial change is very shallow with northwrlies just above the surface.

EDIT> 72mm here now.

8mm in the manual gauge (Bendigo), it's seems Melbourne did great, but obviously some places miss out as it is the nature of convective events.

Evening crew - little bit of weather today. 80mm just down Calder in Clarkefield...... Caught them by surprise, must of been looking at the BoM's 8 to 25mm forecast. That trough is still hanging around out west ;)

Here is the precip water feed up to 5pm our time - http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/m ... anim=html5

We've gone back into northerlies here. GFS wants to keep the showers and storms through into tomorrow which is consistent with the main change well back.

It's still so humid. Thinking I scored about 35-40mm, which will do wonders. I'm not even grumpy that I only heard a few distant rumbles :D

Absolutely disgusting up here. Current temp 24, 100% humidity and 24 degree DP, hard to breathe. We had a massive downpour here dropping 46mm in less than an hour, streets all around flooded and police and SES on their toes. Unfortunately a couple of businesses that I know of had water inundation with some damage occuring :(

More rather heavy rain here, we're already over 50mm for the day, looking like about 60+ by the end of this little downpour. Crazy stuff.

Hmmphh I was looking at a cloud that looked like it could develop, 40 mins ago.
And it did, now it has grown up to be a developing storm, typical. And headed for Macedon
I would love to know why they start here, and and not further to the north west.
Looking at the sky here there could be more to come.
Cheers Chris

PS a massive 3mm for the last 2 days

Just been chatting with sister who lives in Upwey. Their land has been flooded for the second time in three days, on Monday a water main burst further up the hill and due to in adequate drainage system much of the water flowed through their place and immediate neighbours. Yarra Ranges council cleaned the silt off the road same day and were coming back to clean out the drains yesterday, when rang this evening they said it was not a priority so did not come as they initially said they would on Wednesday. Some neighbors had water inside today.
There was a silver lining though in that when cleaning up some of the debris to put into the compost sister found a $10 note amongst it.

Grand total of 6mm and that's it for us. Very disappointing. Huntly to our North East managed 38mm. My pessimism this morning was spot on.

Bit of a local wrap from the Dandenongs. Would guess Geoff got 60mm (he can have a long shower now ;) ).

For those wondering.
84mm in Upper Ferntree Gully (and a 76mm).
72mm in Ferny Creek at Dunns Hill.
71mm down in Upwey.
64mm at Ferny Creek reserve.
52mm at Mount Dandenong
30mm at Monbulk.

Monthly average is 75 to 100mm depending on which part of the hills, so about a months worth in 30 minutes. Our MTD is ~135mm now so a good late save.

At one point we had 20mm in 5 minutes and 31mm in 11 minutes. I suspect that first value is very close to a Melbourne metro record...

BTW lots of minor damage locally. Numerous flooded cars, garages and drive ways moved into other peoples gardens. We've lost about a metre^3 of crushed rock. No chance for photos here really as we just had black then grey then fog.

Two photos I took. First is the initial cells take from Tooradin, second is peak storm in our back yard (I emptied the rain tank with that hose in the morning anticipating it would be full by night).
