Not expecting too much from this sequence, maybe some hail and a chance of thunder in some showers and thankfully not too windy for the big clear up. Then the second half of the week looks potentially glorious spring weather.

There's a bit of red in the cell about to hit the Dandenongs, let's see if it's got any hail in it.....
(Edit; Yep a bit of rice sized hail and a good old fashioned downppour of rain, bring on the next please.)

Had a torrential hail shower here earlier. Just rice size but bucket loads. 6mm in quick time. Then got a second weaker shower.
Days rainfall total stands at 7mm which is not a bad strart. More inbound on the radar.

Just got a crazy little cell pass south of here. Hail to about pea size and one boom-crack. We've had 9mm here so far, and four seperate hail showers. Feels like spring

Had a cracker of a hail shower about an hour ago. Few photos from the garden. Stopped before a full cover, but still probably the best in about a year.
That cell near Mt Dandy is also throwing out rumbles currently, though passing to our north.

Blast it, we've had nothing like that here, all the good stuff is missing us by a whisker.

Jeepers Creepers, is it really October? It feels more like July out there this morning, 4.3C grey and gloomy.

A few wintery showers down this way this morning, and very July-ish.

The cool before the warm......Northern Australia is starting to heat up. Nice and warm end to the thread on the way.
One to watch - EC, CMC and GGEM have a very interesting set up in the bight on Oct 20th ....been watching this for a week. EC now has a double core low. GFS still not on board yet for this scenario.... could be a flop but EC joining in on the party gives its a bit more substance today.

Bit of a waste of cold air today with dry low levels killing showers. Just cold and windy.
Front kicking up for tomorrow.
BTW for those wondering the median date for the first 30C in Melbourne is end of October so the lack of warmth is completely unremarkable.
