Gone foggy here and spitty. Thinking a few mm's here tomorrow as the winds go swly with the low passing into the South Tasman sea.

Substantial falls in the east. Huge system in terms of coverage dropping a month or two worth of rain across much of the NT, Qld and NSW.

Showery and foggy night here with 5mm. Still damp and really foggy so more to come.

Bumper falls out east, but looks to have fallen short of major flooding (so far) :D Still, will be good for inflows.

Melbourne radar is down for "60 Hours" so we can expect the biggest storm outbreak of the year later this afternoon! ;)

And good to see some decent snowfalls in the north-east too, at least up higher. After a couple of comparatively balmy and spring-like days, yesterday and today are back to winter here (3 C at 8 am.)

Ironically, there actually is a risk of isolated thunderstorms developing across parts of western Victoria this afternoon (and smaller risk of extending into central parts tonight). Due to a weak frontal system and associated upper cold pool of air. GFS indicating some modest instability, but trigger issue is why they're only a chance. Nonetheless, should see showers extend eastwards this arvo! :)

Nice to see a South-westerly blowing today. A rather rare occurrence this winter.

Btw, might need a new thread for later this week soon. BOM and GFS are really optimistic for big falls along the ranges (as in 40mm+): http://www.bom.gov.au/jsp/watl/rainfall/pme.jsp

A surprise 3mm in the gauge from yesterday evening's rain. Still on track for another 25mm+ later in week. Hopefully some good falls in the Mallee too which has been missing out a bit of late.

Not much to chat about this week until Friday's frontal system arrives. EC getting upbeat about totals for here, 38mm Friday followed by 25mm follow up over the next few days.
