18mm in the gauge for the event. Hasn't rained for a few hours, and suddenly the progs have us mostly dry today squeezed between the low coming in the from west and the other coming in from the east :? Really complex situation for us as the area inbetween the two lows will get little today. You can see the influence of the incoming low (with a solid upper low) in the narrow rainband west of Melbourne. Wouldn't surprise me with we get zilch today, or get 10mm

Big falls piling up in NSW and Tasmania with the east coast low near Coffs pushing humid northeast flow onto the coast all the way down to Hobart :o

Thick fog here in Cowes this morning too. :o

Was kinda expecting the rain to clear a little overnight after looking at the radar before going to bed. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring. BOM going for more light rain to develop this morning then clear later today.

Totals starting to mount up already in Tassie. Fisher River on the Central Plateau with 100mm and Mt Victoria in the north east highlands with 92mm are the standouts. A dangerous situation with two solid days of heavy rain to come.

Yeah I think that low near Coffs is heading right for Syd
Worst yet to come and I fear Tassie could be the big story once this is all over

Drizzle here and quite humid
Sun trying to peak out

Weird day here with fog and mist with occasional drizzle. Mild and damp :? Had nearly 3mm more, so on ~22mm.

Stunning falls of rain to our north, south and east. Tasmania really getting hit now with an exceptional long fetch northeast flow... Struggling to think of something like this before. Low looks to be near Sydney now, with huge waves, a deep low and King tide coming together at the same time tonight. Going to cause a lot of damage on the coast :o

Not expecting much here now until Tuesday.

12mm for us since Friday. This was always going to be an Eastern Seaboard/Tasmania event.

Some eye-popping totals in Northern Tasmania. Lake Mackenzie has had 343mm in the past 2 days :o

As for the rest of the week, maybe another 10-15mm here and then it looks like anti-cyclonic domination....

Its gone nuts over here. Stacks of 24 hour rainfall records and record minimum June temperatures. Worrying is the fact that the North Esk River is at historic high levels.

Suddenly gone very dark and gloomy here after a bright start, though nothing showing on the radar yet near us.
17mm here for this event so far. May finished on 161mm, so things are pretty soggy.
Good to see Mt. Read getting some rain at last eh Tassiedave? ;)

Got spitty showers here now. Thinking we will do ok next 24 hours with humid cyclonic southwesterly flow. Maybe worth 20mm or so here.

Things are dampening up here, though shame we missed getting some heavier falls. Did the 1000 steps walk on Sunday and creeks running ok but below average for the time of year. Still, far from soggy here with no runoff away from the deep creeks.

Next system inbound on WA now to be with us late Wednesday. Hopefully some decent cold air with it.

Dew points temps are still quite high for June, hence all this drizzle. Could get 15mm+ with incoming rainband tomorrow.

Meanwhile Western Australia copped a beauty of a cold front today. Probably just about snowing on Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Ranges.

This drizzle is really starting to pile up. Close to 15mm now at our place and the nearby AWS approaching 20mm. So much humidity around with this system and getting uplift with the warm air advection in southwesterlies. Event should soon pass 40mm, with the next system inbound for tomorrow arvo :D

BTW flown under the radar but in the past 24 hours we have set new records for the hottest June night (28.8C at Troughton Island) and day (37.9C at Bradshaw) for Australia.
