14.5mm overnight. Had some marble-sized hail around 2am. So we've had 25mm all up since Friday morning. Interesting to see that Bendigo AWS didn't register any rain until after 5:30am - perhaps the gauge was jammed up with hail before it melted?

Incidentally, many of the forecast models are indicating the potential for a massive rain system this time next week....

Lots of showers and small storms popping up ahead of the wind change. Another 2mm in the past hour or so, and pretty sure we had a couple of rumbles (though wind has been roaring so hard to tell). Looks like a wet arvo... Nice as I can be lazy for a change with the garden too wet :D

Was continous here from 2:30-3:30 am! Lightning every second. 11.6mm. Got one good shot (cloud base too low masking lightning), but awesome sound recording. Havent checked vid yet. I concur with others - best storm in ages.

3mm here in the end from those showers. Ridge came in and squeezed them out. Chilly nice ahead... 850T are near 0C overnight.

Next front on Tuesday's look to be worth another 10mm or so in southern areas. Really tight pressure gradient so more wind.

Progs still holding out for something really big for Mothers Day.

Another 3mm here too, including a brief heavy hailstorm around 4pm with pea sized hail just as we were trying to pack up the marquees from the Chestnut Festival

Not a Public transport person, but had decided to sit back on a train have a chat with a friend and head into the expo yesterday,
Wow what havoc that was, so called tree over wires, lead to utter confusion and frustration,
I still can see the metro guy with the 2 ways smirk on his face as No One even the train full of ppl going up and down the ramps onto train off the train up the stairs down the stairs over to the bus back to the train knew what was going on.. I'd walk rather than the train thanks.
The alerts of trees down was astounding, any left standing..

Overnight low of 8.5C here in Wyndham Vale last night. Combined with yesterdays chill, the house was pretty chilly this morning.
I still haven't needed to fire up the heater this year, although the inevitable chill is slowly creeping up.

Wind really picking up here. Going to be a wild 24 hours. Not a lot of rain, thinking about 10mm here with better falls near the coast. A bit too westerly.

Sunday's system looks crazy on the latest EC and GFS :-o :-? No real end to this active pattern.

Wind and rain. Saturday looks mild, maybe even warm. But Sunday's windy and wet. Not a cold system :( (SST around southeast OZ are record warm which doesn't help).

Fronts looks good on radar. Question is how far it pushes inland being a westerly system. Must pretty extreme in Tasmania which is getting the full impact. Windy here, but not too bad (yet).

Either a small tornado or decent microburst near Harcourt on Sunday morning:

As for this coming weekend, EC reckons 55mm for us on Sunday with the incoming cyclone :o

Getting some seriously big gusts of wind up here now, estimate 70-80kmh. Won't get much rain here if this wind keeps up.

Pretty Blowy indeed
Getting regular gusts in Highett now at 80km which is very windy for his area
The wind may continue for a while. Aireys Inlet is consistently at 90km

The engine for all this is a massive low from the deeep south
I have taken the day off tomorrow to go Surfing and take some pics
Bass straight has 7m swells coming in and this looks like continuing perhaps in to next week
The Low winding up on Sunday could be a big event
