Awarm bay, huge numbers of snapper and other fish, all points to record numbers of sharks entering the bay.
A real worry, could be the big story this summer instead of natural disasters!!!
Have you guys ever seen shark nets? I always thought they were quite high up in the water, maybe a few metres from the surface but in fact they're only a couple of metres from the bottom of the ocean floor Apparently they don't physically stop sharks as such, rather they interfere with their territorial instincts as they inhibit the shark's swimming, but there's little actually preventing a shark from penetrating through the shark net barrier.
That's why I'd rather swim in Lake Eildon Lily!!
I used to surf but now more than happy wakeboarding and swimming in fresh water, despite the hidden trees!
LOL, yep Sniper, and a gentle float down the river is always nice too. Ooooh, I wonder if we could do that with the red wine and leave the kids on the bank? Or would that be irresponsible parenting? Hmmm, on second thoughts, you probably couldn't float, hold wine glass, balance dip & bickies AND steer said floating device all at once...

I was there last Wednesday doing some jobs around the house. Lake looking great at the moment, still over 30%. Keep up to date with what's going in the Rural/Agriculture board. There is a Lake Eildon thread there.
Also on the shark, i was on a fishing forum where there has been numerous GWS sightings, 40 metres of Carrum ( i hope not i live next to carrum), Queenscliff and Portsea within the last month
There will be plenty of sightings around Philip Island, north around Smiths Beach and beyond. A couple of mates regularly fish Westernport Bay which is notorious for Bull & Gummy Sharks, they have noticed the odd bite which is certainly more fericious than those and more like a Great White.
