3rd Over
Over 2.1: Swan to North, no run, OUT, gone for a golden duck as well!! Prods forward at a ball outside off stump, went hard to defend and gets an edge straight to Hartley!! Swan on a hat-trick, WA 3/1!!

North has no right to be hopping onto a plane to NZ. Hopelessly out of form.
Will end rant now, before I get banned!!
Yeah, his form is quite horrible atm, i hope WA can win...Pomersbach is much better then North, and should be considered in the future.

Sorry Ozzie, this is nothing against the fine WA folk.
He is woefully out of form. Plays with such hard hands.

Like you, I hope Pommers and Ronchi go mental and finish the Bulls off.

Warriors now 6/81 thanks to Ronchi.

Love your analysis John.

Certainly a fine all-round performance there John.
They need to introduce him well before the Ashes series next summer and NZ seems to be a terrific option.
Australia only play 4 tests before the Ashes (2 vs NZ & 2 vs Pakistan in England), so it doesn't give them much room to move or tinker before the Ashes.

Victoria is in all sorts of bother @ the MCG.
Only needing to draw to claim the Sheffield Shield, they are 5/65.
I can see another final loss coming on!!! :(

And resue they did John!
Wade unlucky to fall on 96, a fine innings under extreme pressure.
The Vics somehow get to 9/286.
We must pray for rain Saturday & Sunday.

The Vics have been dismissed for 305 after a great recovery.
An average 1st innings score, but at least it has absorbed 100 overs of the match.
The batting form of QLD is a concern, so Pattinson, Wright & Hastings will have an opporunity to get on top by lunch.

The match is beautifully placed.

A slow going second day of the Sheffield Shield Final with only 220 runs being scored.
It was gripping cricket with the ball swinging around and showing signs of extra bounce as the pitch begins to harden.
QLD @ 6/199 find themselves over 100 behind the Vic 305. The Bulls lower order can bat a bit so they will be expecing to get close to the Vics score.
If the Vics come out firing and knock them over in the first hopur, it will be very hard (not impossible) for QLD to win.
The only advantage is the overhead conditions, with today being overcast and slightly humid.
This match will produce a result, I just think that Victoria holds the upper hand, albeit loosely.

Thanks for reminding me about the test John. Totally slipped my mind this morning.
North should by a lotto ticket, can't get any luckier!!
Good luck to Ryan Harris on debut

The Bushrangers knocked over the Bulls for 257, a lead of 48 runs. Vital in a fairly low scoring game so far.
Despite on 3 wickets between them, I thought Wright & Pattinson were the pick of the bowlers. They could have each picked up 5 wickets each.
Jewell & Quiney have consolidated the lead to 79, with 10 wickets in hand. A lead of 400+ is vital.

A fair finish by the Aussies. I will eat some humblepie and congratulate North on a return to form. Looked good out there today. Still has hard hands, but showed plenty of maturity, which was required.

Bit hats off to Michael Clarke. You could understand if he failed this test match after the week to 10 days he has experienced. As DC mentioned, a slow start, something like 1 off 30 balls, but the last session he went B A N G! Notched up his century in the last over and showed real leadership.

Aussies end up 4/316.

In the Sheffield Shield, Victoria has is in a commanding position. After dismissing QLD for 257, Victoria reached 2/257 at stumps. All batsmen have made starts with Jewell 70, Quiney 73, Hussey 63* & Finch 54*. This is a lead of 321 with 8 wickets and 3 days remaining. Al l the Vics need to do is bat until half way through the day and the game will be all but over. QLD has not been helped with a calf injury to James Hopes.

Go VIc & Aussies!! :)

Great innings by Clarke, well done and you could see how much it meant. Hope North can keep going tomorrow, wouldnt he like a 100 to his name!
As for the Shield Final, wow great work by the vics, we should really have it from here but you never know, Hussey and Finch putting on a good partnership.

Congratulations to the Aussies on wrapping up the 1st test against NZ.
Chasing 106 for victory, Phillip Hughes went crash, bang, wallop making 86 off 75 balls.
Bottom line, a 10 wicket win.
Michael Clarke was named MOTM.
2nd test starts on Saturday.

You cant be serious, you look at all the bad things he does, what you forget about the things he has achieved. For you to wish a player to get injured and be forced to retire is immature and ridiculous sorry but thats how i feel
