Yes wouldn't want to be flying to New York especially seeing the images of people in the streets rejoicing there and in Washington. Safe travels for your friend

No photos of Osama with the head gunshot wound? - fair enough.

But why not some non violent footage of the video image the home security group were collectively watching in the lead up as some form of evidence for the masses?

Would have to agree with you Petros. I can understand not releasing his photo, but some sort of proof would help allay the theories floating around.

On a lighter note, have just been giggling at The Best Obnoxious Responses to Misspellings on Facebook. Crack up :rotfl: Scroll down to the very bottom one (Grandpa sick).

There have been a few reports floating about indicating that the Al Qaeda was actually in financial troubles, and that the group was largely weighing on the private finances of Osama bin Laden himself. I'm not saying that they have gone, and I also fear of reprisal attacks, but they must be running on empty or pretty close to that stage.

Ooops, meant to say somewhere on here, for anyone interested the Weather Channel has done a program called "Forecast for Disaster: La Nina", it's already aired a few times but is going to be on for the next few weeks. Viewing details and a trailer are here:

http://www.weatherchannel.com.au/ffd

Narrated by Bill Hunter, who I heard just today is gravely ill in a hospice in Kew with inoperable cancer :( Media reports were saying his family have gathered around him, doesn't sound too good :( He's 71 and has been in many, many films such as Muriel's Wedding, Strictly Ballroom, Priscilla and more.

I like Bill, he has played some great roles my favourite was in Crackerjack. And who could forget Bill & his Bangkok bride in Priscilla, hilarious!
I must say when I saw the ad for the Weather Channel show I wondered if he was ill as he looked to have lost a lot of weight & looked a bit frail. Obviously he is gravly ill, sadly. It will be such a shame to lose such a great talent. :(

JFYI,
Last week my Brother lost his dog to wild dog bait, Wesburn.
just a warning for anyone that takes their dog into the bush to be aware.
I can get further info if the mut has been chewing seat belts or curtains if required.

Today the results of the Australian Senate Community Affairs Committee were announced and the mandatory labelling of palm oil in food products was rejected.
Zoos Victoria remains committed to ensure that the fight to save orang-utans continues.

Nice image of Mt Welly shell - my colleague is there this week - am quite jealous!
Very thick fog this morning here, nice and calm out there. Both the boy and dog have been feral all night - normally such good sleepers. I wonder if it's the full moon?

There is a strange cloud sitting over Hobart on cam just now if anyone up to see it. 6.16am
Has been a nice amount of snow sitting on Mt W its such a pretty site that cam.
Yes daviescr I was out with my son taking shots to the moon when that fog rolled in yesterday,
dropped the temp 1 deg and was quiet noticeable on the finger tips on tripod legs,
bit colder out there this morning and my little rat is sleeping nicly not like yesterday 5.30am waking.
I see scoresby says it has gone down to 0.0deg from 0.2deg when i first looked.
WS here has just dropped from 2.2 to 2.1c. and the moon might look good.
will I..? wont I..? how many moon shots does one want when its 2 deg out...

Well at last I can get to sleep at a reasonable hour now that the Tour de France is over!!!!!!
Super win by Cadel Evans one that will go down in Australia's sporting history. The last week has been enthralling to watch & the scenary is spectacular. It would be the best holiday to follow the Tour.............one day.
