22.7c here today. A nice summer-like day, and I’m sure the garden is enjoying it. But it’s way too warm for the time of year. Average max for September is around 14c.
Very windy couple of days coming up for here. Might be back to regular watering again soon…

Crazy, gale force wind overnight here. It has backed off slightly this morning, although still gusting like mad.
Not expecting much rain this afternoon, especially if the northerly is still strong. But hopefully most areas will see a few mm after a mild, sunny weekend.

It does seem like we’re in that pattern now where systems struggle to deliver anything substantial. It’s a shame that the El Niño couldn’t have been offset by a negative IOD coming off last year’s set up - it’s amazing how quickly it all just flipped with the double whammy of El Niño and positive IO...

Yes, it hasn't really felt like a winter at all. I was actually thinking recently that we haven't even had a proper fog this season, and barely any hail, sleet etc. Every week seems identical to the previous one. For here, that means at least a couple of days of gale force winds or worse, accompanie...

Really messed up weather this year. We reached 16.7c yesterday. A temp like that might happen late in August, but not typically at the start. And the overnight minimum we had of 11.5c is a fairly typical summer night. Also getting a bit concerned about the shortfall of rain. The grass is still green...

The non-winter rolls on. Sunny and mild again this morning. We did have a string of fairly cold mornings earlier in the week, which has helped bring down our average minimum for the month, although it's still almost 2 degrees above. Average maximum is running about 1 degree above. What is more unusu...

That's interesting. We get frequent heavy frosts at Bolobek where I work. The whole farm is in a low area that used to be a huge wetland at the foot of Mt Macedon. It was drained and cleared when whiteys took over. It's the meeting point of five creeks, a natural frost hollow. We only get infrequen...

3.8c overnight here. No frost of course but it's still good to be closer to normal. Just a smidgeon of rain here yesterday, which wasn't quite enough to register in the gauge. It's turning into a dry month, and very El Nino-like, although we're not quite in an El Nino yet. Wow, it was -2° with a hu...

Yeah, ridiculous winds today and overnight, continuing the theme of this winter. We lost power around sunrise, but thankfully it was restored within a couple of hours. Otherwise, feels like everything is taking a battering. The cold front is not too far away now, although I am not expecting much her...
