Rain easing in the last hour or so. Most Melbourne Dams very doing well. To 9pm, Cardinia 30.6mm, Upper Yarra 19.8mm, Sugarl...

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Thanks for the well wishes. Noticed my first grey hair this morning (not bad for a 38 year old)

Had a great lunch at HuTong dumpling bar http://hutong.com.au/ in Market Lane. Truly amazing dumplings. mmm.

And finished up with the family at Berwick Thai.

Great day.

Re: Vic - Cut-off Low - Rain/T'storms/Flooding - 3-6 Sept 20

Got a partial sun halo with the full spectrum of colours above us in Notting Hill at the moment - an incredible sight :D Just a pity I do not have my camera with me :( Rog. Had the same over the Macedon Ranges around 5:45pm. It was quite spectacular. Can report a similiar sight in the South Western...

Not much to report in this part of the world. 12+mm since Friday and a wild night last night. 1mm in the shower that just past thru. I have been watching the flow into the dams and particularly those in the Goulburn area . Interesting to note that the volume of water that flowed into Eildon yesterda...

Re: Barometer

Hi RS4 I believe your model station sends raw data (and not sea level data) to your console or software. So to get the ASL equivalent you will need to either 1) change the offset value on the console or 2) change the offset value on your software. As for comparing your values with the nearby unit, y...

Re: Victoria: Series of Cold Fronts. August 14-17 2010

Had some really good showers pass thru here today. With the fireplace cranked up it reminded me of the "old'n days".

WSW setup suites this area well. 8.7mm to 7pm whilst the "official" Berwick Gauge has recorded 12mm. :D

12mm since midnight & 20mm from event. Winds not so strong out this way, gusting up to 40km/h. Strange calmness as I type.

Re: Winter Vegetables/Herbs in pots.. Any green thumbs aroun

You put the bulbs away to dry out the plant and prevent rotting. I hang mine in the Garage for about 6 weeks before using and place the excess in a mesh bag in the pantry. :D

Re: Winter Vegetables/Herbs in pots.. Any green thumbs aroun

Garlic's an easy one. Plant on the shortest day and pick on the longest. Then put in a dark place for a couple of months and enjoy. Save one or two of you strongest bulbs for the next season. Most nurseries should have starter bulbs to get you going. (not sure if you can use commercial varieties.)

Re: Weather station on Web

Hi Dane, I suspect you may have your weather station connected to a different port than what the software is expecting. Does "Weather Display" software display "Comm Port OK" in its title bar? What make and model station do you have? Is it a COM port or USB type connection? And d...

Re: Record warmth in southeast

I watch and read this post with interest, however, have one (1) simple question. Is the temperature measured and reported against the days high or the days average temperature or perhaps something else like average temperature between 6am and 6pm.

Just curious.
