I'm at the point of modifying travel plans this Christmas Day due to the threat of severe storms unloading large rain quantities on our place. I wish that was an option for us - not looking like the best day for a trip to the eastern suburbs! Only slight positive is it looks slightly less wet there...

'Possible heavy falls' now in our BOM forecast for Christmas Day. That's up from 'Possible shower' yesterday morning, then 'Showers' yesterday afternoon. Apparently, BOM like to break it to us gently! Will be great to get more rain, although not looking forward to the Christmas drive across Melbourn...

Very quiet on here... what am I missing? Or is it just Christmas shopping bumping weather down the list ?

Time for a new thread. As discussed a few times in the previous thread, it's beginning to look a lot like (a wet) Christmas.

Now all but two models I can see predict a rainy period, starting as early as the 23rd.

Handy little addition here with 6mm to 9am, and still a few showers to come. Passed 50mm mtd; December just keeps on giving!

Cool too - just 11C currently. Christmas progs looking okay for another top-up... or perhaps not for anyone with a Mallacoota holiday planned!

Cooler and damper here than I expected: full cloud and even a few spots of rain, although not enough to trouble the scorer so far.

Back home from a week away. We scored 30.5mm for the dates, making 45mm mtd. And yes, time for a new thread.

Non-stop rain here since the wee hours, only backing off somewhat now. 21.5mm so far.

Not sure the models are coping very well with the complexity... 4pm and still no update to BOM's 4 dayer.

Ended up with 78mm for November, 7mm below average but quite acceptable after the dry start to the month.

52mm here since the rain started early yesterday morning. Still going - mainly the same dense small droplet stuff that confuses the radar, but it sure adds up!

Haven't done the exact math, but our November total will be looking a lot less embarrassing than it was a week ago.

Rain here appears light due to small droplet size, but is actually quite 'thick' and drenching if you have to go out in it (like I just did to check our overflowing water tanks!).

We're up to 20mm since this lot started early this morning, and it shows no sign of backing off.

Surprised that the media aren’t really talking about this system. Strikes me as potentially very nasty for the worst affected regions. No temp over 20° for a whole week either. Great rain totals for you as well Macedonian. Our mere 20mm is good enough for us; especially as it looks like adding into a lovely long spell of wet, cool weather. Keeps us green, stock well-fed, and pushing fire risk back.
