28.8C was the top here for the event with 4mm of rain. Was hoping for a bit more, but not to be. Still dry here, though mild weather is helping. Very wet on the west coast where some spots have had over 200mm in the past two weeks. Good to see the rain in the northeast yesterday, but overall a dry s...

42.5C at Walpeup the top for VIC, and 39.1C at Point Cook the top for the Melbourne metro. Pretty typical February stinker. Will be short lived with the change slowly pushing in. Almost fine for the south, but the northeast will get some rain from the ex-TC. Quite a different day down here. Had a ma...

Stinker today for VIC. Might sneak a 40C somewhere around Melbourne today, but cbd looks like a near miss. Northwest will easily get past 40C. Melbourne historically used to average a 40C about once ever year or two, so nothing too unusual with summer so far, except all that rain which was locally r...

Progs not really budging. They sped up the change and have now slowed it down. Still think the old 100F looks good for Melbourne. Avalon will turn on one of its most horrible days with gusty winds and a 40C+. That area can really behave like it’s in the middle of the desert under the right condition...

Classic summer stinker coming up to start the new month. Saturday won’t be too bad, perhaps peaking at high 30s, but Sunday looks quite awful for the southern mainland. Temps into the low to mid 40s in the northwest, touch 40C in the south, and gust windy with a late in the day change. Front looks b...

Not a lot to report down here with mild to warm days rolling on. Tis worth noting that the climate has reorganised with the SAM dropping back to neutral after two to three months of dominant positive SAM. Means next few weeks will likely be a lot hotter and drier for the southern mainland. Time for ...

Some amazing totals there 😳 We’ve been stuck down here between the tropical systems to the north and fronts to the south. Been really windy last few days, but most showers being shredded by the ranges. Picked a couple of mm’s so far. Hasn’t been a bad summer here with our total so far almost exactly...

One 40C day in ten years? We’ve had nine in the past five years in Melbourne. The number has increased a lot as you’d expect given Australia has warmed by 1.5C. Theres nothing normal about 50C in Australia. The cloud band over northern Victoria has stalled and is edging south. Will be some patchy ra...

Looks like a lot of lightening around Melbs to start the day. All high based and really fast moving. Not seeing much weather today for most of us from about 8am.
Record or near record heat to our north with both day and highs being approached or broken, but we sit south of it all.

Our coolest day yesterday in a while with a max of 16C. Not really complaining as it makes going to work easier. Warming up the next few days. We avoid the real heat, but probably mid 20s Wednesday and Thursday. Heat creeps into the far northwest of VIC, but overall warm rather than particularly hot...

A bit of a mixed bag this week with a couple of warm to hot days (north) followed by a weak low mid week with steadily cooling uppers heading into the long weekend. Not expecting much weather, but could be a weak rainband mid week, depending on moisture streaming out of the tropical low near WA, and...

Struggling a bit to find the new thread. Warm, some showers, then cooler…. that’s about it 🤔 Record heat for northwest WA, near record heat for central, a major TC crossing near Townsville follow by the system running down parallel to the coast but inland so a lot of weather, but the southeast is la...

Nice showery Thursday here with a further 4mm. Cleared today to a nice sunny afternoon. Ducks are happy with the dams jumping a couple of inches and the grass getting a green flush. Not a lot in the progs. Mild weekend, short warm spell (possibly rather too hot in the Mallee) then a cooler run down ...

Very welcome event down here with just shy of 20mm. Across northern parts of TAS, pretty general 20-50mm falls. South a bit patchier but most spots got at least 15mm, and a few did better with local storms. Heard one rumble here, and was even a possible water spout over our local bay https://pulseho...

Significant day today. For vic a solid rainband, though will be a bit patchy in the north. It’s not overly heavy but with high precip water values and some embed storms and slow movement would think a good inch for many. Having been hotter and drier don’t expect too many issues, though the local fla...

Wow, hadn’t picked that little storm near Moorabbin Airport 😳 That area has really copped it this year. Thats near 250mm in six weeks. Today is a bit of a waiting day, with showers and storms developing late in western VIC and over the coast west of TAS, moving through both states early Thursday. It...
