Unfortunately quite a bit of frost in the Wimmera overnight. That could impact grain crops.

Just had short burst of hail in the Southern suburbs of Bendigo.

Cold. Some local frost in parts of Northern Vic this morning. Not good for crops.

Looks dry for us. But not a bad thing given crops need to dry out. Interestingly it could be a bigger grain crop in Vic this year than last, due to the lack of flood damage.

Apart from the occasional warm day, it looks quite mild for the rest of October.

Pretty heavy rain in much of Melbourne this morning. Back to winter.

The forecast seems to have firmed for 20-30mm here this week. Will be very welcome rain here and could be good finishing rains for some winter crops.

As for next week - Wow! 18z GFS is off-the-chain with over 100mm here, and 170mm around Gisborne/Melton. EC thinks it'll be more an Eastern Vic system. Going to be crazy ...

30-50mm here seems likely, and a decent dump of snow too on the Alps... (After the season ended early)
