I moved the temp to in the shade, but with a bit more wind. Same height, 1m above ground.

Its now 46.1 here. Sale up the road has 45c, thats the town centre, not the WS at East Sale RAAF.

Re: More heat and possible records: January 19-27

Access C 12z run picked the Melbourne Metro PM temp spike into the 40's for today very well this morning. Strangely the BoM ignored it and went with 36c even though they had that info before the 5.20am forecast :? Access C 00Z for tomorrow is going for 45c for Melbourne, Avalon....endless mid 40's ...

Re: More heat and possible records: January 19-27

Why is the solar energy going off Jasmine? surely the sun hasnt moved. Honestly, Ive got no idea, can someone explain pls. Much of it has to do with the extreme rainfall deficit in the Broken Hill region over the past 12 months. An interesting one to watch in Whyalla. It has equaled the current sit...

Re: More heat and possible records: January 19-27

A few thoughts on tomorrow for SA and Friday for Victoria, this is a very hot airmass that the models seem to be struggling to pick up, for instance Ceduna today reached 48.4C with 850hpa temps barely touching 30C, tomorrow the 850hpa temp over Adelaide is firmly in the 30C range so can see it reac...

Re: More heat and possible records: January 19-27

TASMANIA is in serious trouble, very very bad. The smoke has reached the Gippy coast on the back of a southerly. I can smell it and at 1km there is a distinct smoke haze. Given the predicted conditions in SA and VIC, I dont know where the help can come from. There may have to be a swap from QLD to N...

Re: VIC: How Hot? 6 Jan 2019 - 18 Jan 2019

Down here on the Gippy Coast, so far this summer we have had two days above 35.
Now its about 26 witha bit of humidity, been like that for a week or two.
Last year we got 350mm of rain.
Supposed to get 750mm
Gippsland is stuffed, its getting the same amount of rain, if not less than Burra in SA.

Re: Major upper and surface lows 12–16 Dec

I have been listening to the near hysteria on commercial radio but I can only see falls of 25mm in the metro area over 24 hours. Vicroads pleading for ppl to stay home, gimme a break. 2mm for me! I am old enough to remember when floods were an annual event, melbourne had cold winters, spring rains, ...
