Looks like a lottery. GFS is very enthusiastic about Wednesday night rain. The Canadian forecast goes big for the weekend/early next week. EC not interested in anything much here.
The next week or so is likely to see exceptionally heavy rain over more-or-less all of Western Australia, particularly inland areas. This is good news in terms of putting a lid on the extreme temps that have afflicted the continent in the past couple of months. That said, the Simpson Desert will rem...
Smoky here too. We only got 5mm, but it's welcome regardless. Currently 12c and it feels real cold. So in 5 weeks we go from record cold December day, record hot December day, to coldest January day in 29 years....

I wonder if they’ll hit 50? Still have time.. I doubt it. It seems to have topped out at 48.6c. Incidentally, Hume Hwy...
The past 3 years for NSW have been worse than the 1900-1902 Federation drought. Similar 3 year rain total here in fact:
1900 - 530mm
1901- 391mm
1902 - 343mm
2017 - 526mm
2018 - 388mm
2019 - 327mm
Annual average is around 540mm.
Sunday sees a big drop in temps. We might even struggle to get to 20c!
