Re: Looking for the next Substantial rainfall for Victoria/SE OZ

I'm trying to work out what next Thursday will do, considering the front moves in late, as this looks like the next possible severe weather day. Firstly, I am guessing with strong winds, the likelihood of very humid air would be pretty low for starters. Is this right? At this stage Thursday doesn't ...

Oh ok, thanks John. I hope it goes the GFS way and we get some nice warm, humid and stormy weather for a few days! That is probably what I would expect as well, going on what the weather patterns have been like over the past couple of months.

Re: Victorian Towns/City Weather Forecasts Forum Style

Anyone willing to have a go for next Thursday or Friday? GFS looks as though they are going for warmer air hitting Melbourne on Tuesday and I am guessing Wednesday and Thursday will progressively get hotter from there...Chance for 40+ next Thursday/Friday?

Yeah looks like an ominous December set-up, warmer ocean is probably feeding into this system. Very dark outside, even though it is early morning it has that look about it out there. Would be great if this thing slowed down.

Re: Some rain possible with a front & Upper trough Dec 7th-8th

Whoa here we go, the radar looks great coming in from the wnw. It's really moving though, how did it intensify so quickly and pick up so much speed. Looks like Melbourne will score a direct hit, well at least the northern suburbs definitely will. Raining here now Yeah it actually is moving fast, I ...

I really like the look of this now...slow moving and isolated heavy falls. I think 20mm for the city today.

Having said that, the western suburbs will win out in this one I think. Might get upto 40mm locally even.

Re: Wet Season 2009 (Queensland)

EC hinting at 2 tropical systems next week in the vicinity of Queensland.. 1 in the Coral sea and the other around the Gulf if this is the case this would be a fairly early start to the season especially in an El nino year Oh well, I think we all know what it means when it turns wet up there...it g...

Re: Victoria: Change developing. December 3rd 2009

Interesting tonight on the Channel 7 weather, David Brown didn't mention anything about the wind tomorrow, I am sure it may catch a lot of people off guard tomorrow with some squall lines possible on the change...I can't see much in the way of rain at all, but I think their may be some isolated thun...
