Re: Vic – July 3- 6 Winter low with follow up troughs

Yep, looking much more seasonal JS! Being a gardener and outside all the time, I get a "feel" for how the seasons are going, and it's been pretty clear to me that the seasons have been running a month behind schedule for the last year. Last winter didn't want to leave until well into Septe...

Hmmm, maybe EC's forecast for snow here on the 29th wasn't so fanciful after all :o ......

Re: Sequence of fronts: June 22-

Korean seasonal climate model doesn't think that much will change in the next 6 months. More dry weather to prevail across Southern Australia: http://www.apcc21.org/ser/outlook.do?lang=en I've bookmarked those charts Strato, will see how they fared at the end of November. High pressure does seem to...

Re: Vic: Never ending High, June 10 to .....

One has to be careful reading too much into hemispheric weather from the news. Southwest Africa is in a severe drought and just saw multiple deaths from winter wild fires :o New Zealand snow depths are nothing unusual. The reduction in winter westerlies and fronts around our latitudes is something ...

Re: Vic: Never ending High, June 10 to .....

Just a matter of bad luck it seems to me. There's been plenty of wintry weather all around the southern hemisphere recently, big snow events in South Africa, South America and even closer to home in New Zealand, and as Jasmine mentioned some astonishingly low temperatures in Antarctica presently. On...

Just had a torrential shower, only a tiny speck on the radar. If you get under a big one you'll cop a drenching.

Well I wouldn't say it was warm. 7.5c here and yes a wind that tries to go through you rather than round you.

Felt here in Olinda Ben, I was in the shower but heard a deep rumbling noise, my wife said there was a tremor reported on FB.

Finished with 38mm for the system here, and 81mm total for May, below average but certainly not a dry month, things are pretty soggy around here now.

Yr.no have 7cm of snow forecast for Mt Macedon next Monday. :o Interesting split in the models at the moment. EC and AccessG both going for a follow up wintry blast next Mon/Tues, while GFS and CFS both have high pressure over us with the next low still out west, coming in late next week. Look forw...

Re: 2017 Possible upcoming weather events

I've been looking at all the main extended models I can find, and there seems to be general agreement on a cold first half to June, and possibly the whole month below average temperatures could be on the cards, with high pressure staying mostly to our west.
