It's trying really hard to build up over this side of town. Lots of low, heavy cloud and the odd rumble but unfortunately no wet stuff yet. Fingers crossed for later on
Thanks Rivergirl & Shell :) I did a bit of Googling and found iridescent clouds. The Google image search for these brings up some awesome pics. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=iridescent+cloud&hl=en&client=firefox-a&tbo=u&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&biw=1280&bih...
Anyone know what this is called? It was directly overhead on the edge of a cloud about an hour ago. http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac122/777artemis/weather/c1f03690-cfea-4a4f-b9ce-5b023d0057f6_zps0fcb3067.jpg We've had a good short soaking here this morning with thunder on and off since around 6...
Woke up to rumbling this morning and even a short burst of large drops. Still some thunder hanging around. Eerie pinkish grey looking sky to the east. Hopefully all signs of an interesting day to come
What's with this wind? Relentless easterlies here the last two days. Just brought the rubbish bin back in as it was blown over twice. :windy: :windy: My daughter is dancing in her first showcase at Warragul Arts Centre from 5pm Saturday. Could be an interesting evening if severe storms eventuate. Yo...
Nice little orange blob heading towards Shepparton. Lightning showing up in it too as well as further north towards the border. Looks like a line of storms forming up that way.
BoM forecasting up to 20cm of snow on Mt Baw Baw tonight with the next front. Geeez that's more snow in one single day than almost any other day last winter lol. Not surprised. We've had one heavy shower after another all day here in Warragul, most of them with hail, and it's all heading straight f...
Thanks Karl :) Unfortunately I didn't even know how to turn a computer on back in '05, let alone checking weather radars and satellite images. Would have loved to have watched that one as it unfolded. Certainly was spectacular watching from the ground! So you think this band coming up from Tas will ...
By both the IR and Vis Sat pics the cloud wrapping around between Tas and Vic is really thickening up. It would be interesting to see what that would do if it gets dragged up over Vic today? Rog. Looks like we're in with a good chance of finding out soon Rog. I must say I have been fascinated by th...
An interesting article here from Science Daily. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/04/110406085634.htm Seems the unusually cold winter up north has caused a chemical reaction with the pollutants that are still remaining in the stratosphere. Ozone concentrations and total content have been con...
