The end of week system now is mooted by GFS to become a cut off low over Vic, not Tas. This would fix Gippslands rainfall deficit in 2 days if it were to come off:
After a weeks of constant ABC reports that the BOM is predicting dry months ahead, looks like we are heading into a period of repeated damp frontal systems.
Yep Twister, rare to get a Vic rain event that delivers for most of Vic at the April planting season. I tipped out 28.25mm just before, takes Maffra to 36.25mm for this thread. Cold and clear skys to the West now. 52.5mm here for this month so far, farmers happy. I wonder if a (season last-gasp) SE ...
Drizzly periods arrived here mid yest arvo, persisted on and off under a light NE'ly till later at night, then rained steadily through to 1030 am before a brief pause. Expecting an inch or more in the gauge when I empty it this evening. Thankyou TC Ilsa.
A very cold 14C max here today and another 3mm from frequent brief windy showers to take us to a 12.75mm tally for the last 3 days. Would be tough conditions for those camping up the bush.
Had a few high based weak storms about Nth Gippy yest arvo/evening, a mild warm day. Light showers from the Nth have been around on and off here since last evening, but only tally to 6mm so far. Still quite mild out, ...the Foehn effect.

We missed rain from last evening's storms, but the rain period delivered an amazing 58mm her...
35C here just after lunch, seabreeze arrived early arvo making conditions easier while log splitting. Hoping for 5-10mm overnight and a possible rumble or two.
Nice photo's Australis. We finally got some "weather" here last night with a slow moving storm, lots of lightning and 3.5mm rain, there would be decent totals in spots around Nth Gippsland. Nice after a prolonged dry spell. February was a markedly cool one here, the third in row, with just...
35C here today, equal hottest day for this season since Dec 4th, and we got 1.5mm from a high level storm mid arvo, our first storm for December. Lovely mild calm evening for a bbq and no doubt a "bat attack" to pass over us at dusk.
