Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Haven't seen My Fitness Pal, will have a look. One of the biggest things I cut out was the drinks, for the times I got sick of drinking water I started making my own cordial with lemon and/or lime juice and use stevia for some sweetness. You can get it at health food stores, Woolies also have it, I ...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Sounds very sensible, I was approaching things much the same way - watch the carbs, monitor what's going in v. what energy is being expended in return. It's not rocket science, but hard to do sometimes, that's for sure. Well done, you! Hoping to get back on the wagon again, I've walked twice so far ...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Awesome stuff, Karl, well done. You must be feeling so good :D So, what have you been doing, how have you done it? Before getting sick I was exercising too, even managed to start some running again after many, many years! Now I'm lucky to walk to the letterbox, mind you lol :| Would be good to hear ...

Re: Victoria: Cold Front - August 28-September 1 2012

(It really wasn't that bad; some people shouldn't drive when its wet!!) Not a truer word has been spoken :P Was just about to head out for a walk when it started raining here, coming down at a decent rate at the moment, we're under the long, thin yellow band I'm guessing. Wouldn't say it's pelting,...

And now you can sort of 'breathe easy' (sorry) and get on with it! Ohhhhh lol, aren't you the funny bugger :hysteria: Thanks x Yes, welcome to hayfever season, it's sure ramped up these last few days too. Both the kids get it, I get it mildly. I usually get the kids to start taking antihistamines a...

Re: Health question help!Historical data/memories of winter

Well, results are in. Severe viral asthma attack. It seems I caught a virus in the US, then the climate change from great weather to freezing cold weather when I got home has exacerbated things, along with the mould and dust issues in the house (which we were unaware of until a few weeks after arriv...

Re: Cold Fronts: August 22 - 26

Yep Shell, happens to all of us at some point. Last year was pretty disappointing for here, for me anyway, but that was mainly because when we did get something here at home, I always seemed to be away at Eildon lol! 'Twas a frustrating year, but it's always nice to know that someone's getting somet...

Re: Cold Fronts: August 22 - 26

LIttle bit of rain here now, some absolutely cracking thunder and lightning but I think the main stuff is going to just miss us to the north. I reckon I just saw two bits of hail too lol. Was just about to post this and it just started hailing in earnest, windows are awash, quite heavy, lasting less...

People losing interest after being too spoiled with previous weather events it seems :P Nah-uh, not me! Re: Health question help!Historical data/memories of winter

Ooops! Meant to say - VITAMIN D!!! I have read there have been clinical studies into Vitamin D in connection with asthma, additionally most of us are lacking in Vit D, so possibly that's something to do with the extra illness this year too (due to lack of sunlight)?

Re: Health question help!Historical data/memories of winter

Yes, I think both you and DB are probably correct, Gordon. Not so much the amount of rain, but the lack of sunshine, etc. drying out the effects of the dampness. In our particular instance, we have mould around the house, but also for the first time inside our house due to condensation on the window...

Re: Drink Driving Mother Charged.

Sadly, it seems to be quite a common occurrence, there have been quite a few instances of this in the news in the past 6 - 12 months (there was a mum in Narre Warren I think recently, too?). It really is quite shocking, isn't it. Drink drivers sh!t me at the best of times because they put at risk al...
