Re: Victoria - Series of cold fronts - 16th-24th June 2011

9.6mm's up to 9am here but none since. Max today after 9am was 10.6c now 8.8c.
Winds last night gusted to 38 knots (70kmh) on my weather station, windy but well short of my record 49 knots (88kmh)
Looks like rapid warming will take place over the next 48 hours.

Re: Victoria: Cold fronts and westerlies June 3rd-7th 2011

Had 11mm's overnight to get winter kicked off. Very cold, still only 6.9c here.
Coldest air with that next front late Tuesday should kick off some low level (500 to 600m) snow falls.
I hope this is a sign of a nice cold winter.

Coldest morning of the year, down to 1.7c with ice on the car and quite a bit of fog as well. Should be a beautiful day though and quite mild expecting a top of 17c in Cranboune, Currently 2.5c.

Re: Victoria: Cold fronts and westerlies June 3rd-7th 2011

Models have backed off a bit and BOM has dropped the snow in the Dandenongs from their forecast. Still plenty of time to go though and models may jump back on board again.

Re: Vic - Surface trough & Cut off low 19-25/3/11

Ended up with 12mm's for the event here, was predicting 20 to 30mm's but we missed out on the big rain early in the week. MTD now 33mms' (ave 49mm's) YTD 295mm's. Very good falls in the east and also the West of the state, but a hard system to predict.

Re: Vic - Surface trough & Cut off low 19-25/3/11

May get 1 or 2mm's overnight but it looks like later tomorrow will be our best bet. Weird system absolute bucketloads some places an...

Re: Vic - Surface trough & Cut off low 19-25/3/11

This system has been a big fizzer for Central areas of the state so far. Been alright for the west particularly the far NW and in East Gippsland. Finally on board for this system here BTW had 0.2mm's in some drizzle around 10am. Still murky and misty no sign of any sun 21/19. Dont think we will get ...
