Re: Current climate conditions.

Here's the sea level rise map for OZ http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs441.snc3/25336_398752029251_626609251_4845050_576496_n.jpg as promised. Worth remembering that the changes will be seen in a coastal recession (around) 100 times that rate on sandy/muddy beaches which is huge. BTW K...

Re: Current climate conditions.

DJ, the solar followers have always relied on an 11 year lag to explain the connection. This of course runs into the problem of ocean response times that appear to be quite short (2-5 years) This is also a problem with AGW, which relied on heating in the pipeline and was falsified buy the declining ...

Re: Lenses etc. etc.

Both those lenses are nice and small and would be a joy to use.(small primes is why i went pentax) 50mm is probably better for portrait/lightning shots, the 35mm is stupidly cheap and if you like primes you will pick one up later. Alternatives, sigma 50/1.4 HSM, possibly the best AF50/1.4 going arou...

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

. I asked about this the other day earlier in the thread, I couldn't understand how a storm approaching from the NW would give us damage primarily on the S/SW side of our home, but I couldn't tell you what page it was discussed on now lol. Hey Lily the damage was on the s/sw side because the low le...

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

liking the look of the sat pick this morning, should get some good showers when that comes through. If I get stuck in a stream I could easily get the 11mm need to crack the ton!
Might go out to Ferntree Gully (north) and see how the parents fared.

Re: Victoria: Low pressure system. March 4th-??? 2010

Anyone got a doppler wind loop, I checked it after the storm passed and it was quite amazing! For those who are not aware the speed that hail falls is dependent on their size and increases as the stones get bigger. The 10cm type hail would be falling 150km/h plus. Kind of like taking hits from a fas...
