Got long distance shots of those first two cells that went over the bay from here in yarra glen. Absolutely massive storms. Currently getting our turn with nice downpour and heaps of lightning.
Well I managed to avoid the rain all the way back from great western yesterday but I managed to stop at a few nice places and snap some pics of the storms as they were developing. The first shot is of some early dumpers from one tree hill in Ararat looking back over the grampians at about 3.30 http:...
Just cracked the 100mm mark, and thats despite an overflowing rain gauge that i emptied out at 3am
Starting to wonder if living next to the yarra is a good thing or not?
Well I scored 84mm all up so not to shabby! Still no idea if I'm starting up at great western on monday. As to off topic global warming talk then ROFL DJ, 2010 was a strong (not super) el nino year and was statistically insignificant to 1998, so the world only warmed slightly since then. Meanwhile t...
Up to 74mm here in hawthorn! Had some eventful driving over the last week as I am starting a new job at Seppelt winery at great western (where they are currently evacuating the town to) I was supposed to have an induction day there today but headed back to melbourne this morning after Staying at a f...
Not every system is going to have pretty photos, what about a seasonal photo thread? Post larger image sizes in there and either links or thumbnails in the obs thread?
By the way how do you post a thumbnail that links to a larger photo with these codes?

Got some nice photos of that cell that went black over SE, then followed it along as I was going to pick up the GF. Nice duck egg blue colour at one point.
We copped the downpour from the second cell just after we walked in the door quite a few rumbles!
Well I managed to make it to Elwood beach and capture almost the same shots as Aus Twisted! :D Here are a couple with scenery plus an artistic black and white version that was almost the same as steve's There were also also some cool lowerings when it hit the coast which got some shots of! http://ro...
Scored 6mm to take my total to 44mm for the month, equal to the melb median!
Also found some tree carnage next to work, huge branches torn off everywhere and one 40cm tree snapped like a match about 3m from the base
