Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 24

The trough coming into Victoria is just starting to activate over the border with showers building north of Deniliquin and moving south.

Should see quite an eruption over the coming hours.

Loving the night shift!! :)

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Nice work this week Michelle. I ended up having to go on nightshift for the coming 2 months and have had to take some time out to adjust. I have been for three 12km walks and 2km runs to keep my fitness up. My weekend starts this morning so I will try and get a gym session in and a 15km run in acros...

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 15

Nice pictures guys :) Jake is spot on with the storm forecast coming up. Scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms, mainly inland and possibly severe across the divide and west today. Damaging winds are more likely today than yesterday, especially in the west. Melbourne is touch and go. We ...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Also moving into nightshifts at work to, from Sunday night!! So will be reversing the time I exercise to mornings and perhaps in the evenings if I am too tired after shifts. But I will stick to a winning routine!! Looking forward to losing another 2kg this month with weights thrown is as well, might...

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 15

If you take GFS over the past seven runs and paste them over one another, you will find a general smudge of rainfall of 10-50mm over wide areas of the state and in E SA, S NSW. There will be showers and thunderstorms - that is now a given and it will end with a bang which could also last some time. ...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Hey Shell - Been off sick the past few days with severe tooth issues which have now been rectified. However in saying that in the past weeks to take my mind off the pain I completed 26km run in 2hrs25mins, my fatest 5km in 21mins, and did about 200km of cardio in January plus weights. Lost another 4...

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 15

It will be as per usual - isolated showers and thunderstorms across the ranges and in the east early next week, translating across the state and becoming scattered and possibly tending to rain later in the week. Looks like the pattern is jammed so can see the rain and storms persisting well beyond t...

Re: Vic Rain...Yeah That's Right Rain...Jan 31st-3rd Feb.

Finally some rainfall to talk about! 22mm overnight with a nice storm yesterday afternoon, few rumbles overhead from some crawlers and one CG off to the SE around ChurchHill. Looking cold and a little showery at times this morning, but should become not too bad towards evening. That will most likely...

Re: Victoria: Showers/Thunderstorms - January 24th-28th 201

Disgusting smokey morning across the region with a low level easterly flow bringing the smoke in from Gippsland overnight and now it is trapped under a thin inversion which should peel off quite quickly with the Nly flow developing this morning. Looking good if you live anywhere in the Gippsland reg...

Re: Victoria: Showers/Thunderstorms - January 24th-28th 201

And just like that the systems basically push further east leaving the state largely dry, apart from E Gippsland. I think it will remain dry over Melbourne under current prognostics - we need the trough to deepen to our west and stall overnight Thursday into Friday for us to have any hope. I think t...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

I ran 21km yesterday in the heat of the day burning 2300 calories. Ended up with a time of 1hr52mins. I was real happy with that. Clocked up 80km of walking and lots of weights and lost just on 1.3kg. So was really happy with that. Back to the gym for row and a weights session to give the legs a rest.

Victoria: Showers/Thunderstorms - January 24th-28th 2013

A deepening pressure trough looks set to affect Victoria's weather come the end of the week. Already this pressure trough is pushing showers and storms into NE VIC and is starting to strengthen over NSW today. Depending on timing it could be a good producer for C and E areas particularly and could l...

Re: Victoria: Hot then cold front - 16th to 19th January 201

Looking like a stinker inland with humidity and high temps. A few thunderstorms about the NE and quite a bit of activity through inland NSW. Showing signs of the ridge breaking down and this means we could be in for some fun come the end of the week with 10-25mm in spots possible and a band of thund...

Re: Victoria: Hot then cold front - 16th to 19th January 201

A significant weather day across NSW yesterday that is for sure but more importantly a sad day across Victoria with fires claiming a life and destroying property as the dry spell grips Victoria. Should see conditions continue in this vain albeit cooler across the weekend with potential for heatwave ...

Re: Looking towards substantial rainfall for SE Australia

And again that model has removed that chance. I think the monsoon needs to reset in Feb for us to have any chance of rainfall in SE Australia. It looks like we will be left with relying on fronts and sharp troughs, but with this persistent upper high over the region, there will be little rain. Hot d...

Re: Victoria: Hot then cold front - 16th to 19th January 201

That is disgusting weather! I see we dropped to 22C at my place for about 4 minutes before the NE flow kicked in and then back to 29C for much of the night. Vile vile vile if you have no A/C. Thankfully was enough around in our house to keep things respectable. Still warm now, however middle level c...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Yeah I put on about 3kg then took them off as soon as I got back into NORMAL duties again, work, study etc... Did nothing yesterday apart from laze around in the pool. I guess I did weights, throwing my seven year old nephews through the pool - so I did some work haha but generally it was my cheat d...

Re: Victoria: Hot then cold front - 16th to 19th January 201

When is Melbourne going to get some exciting weather?! I'm getting sick of this kind of weather where there's no rain/storms! Still another 3 weeks away probably Ben but keeping an eye on proceedings up over the north of the country. Looking a little more likely to see light thundery showers on the...

Re: Victoria: Hot then cold front - 16th to 19th January 201

Thanks guys, I am still here - just.... haha! It is very warm now across 3/4 of Melbourne. Down along the peninsulas and out in the far SW suburbs, still low to mid 20s but that should change as the inversion lifts in the coming few hours. Cloud thickening as well so we may fall short of 40C but be ...

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

I find it hard to get the real big exercise in when it is really hot, having to really watch the weather and plan around that. I have done about 60kg of cardio this week on walking/running alone and weights weights weights. I am going to take it easy today, might get to the gym if I feel up to it, b...
